An operating system transforms the physical world of devices, instructions, memory, and time into virtual world that is the result of abstractions built by the operating system. Objectives of Operating Systems : Objectives of Operating Systems To allocate resources to processes (Manage resources)An operating system controls how processes (the active agents) may access resources (passive entities). Windows 7 was released to manufacturing on July 22, 2009,[5] and reached general retail availability on October 22, 2009, less than three years after the release of its predecessor, Windows Vista.
