Day 2 - Golden Circle Þingvellir National Park – Mid Atlantic Ridge North American / Eurasian plate boundary Optional ‘Caving in a lava tube’ with www.adrenalin.is Geysir Gullfoss – awesome fault-guided waterfall and walk by the gorge

Day 3 “Sea, water and Ice Day” Seljandafoss (waterfall you can get behind) Skógarfoss (awesome 60 m waterfall) Sólheimajökull glacier – up to the snout and sides. Also optional walking on the glacier with www.adrenalin.is Coastal Features at Reynishverfi including spectacular basalt columns like a small-scale Giant’s Causeway

Day 4 “Ice Day 2” View Svartifoss which flows spectacularly over black basaltic columns. Visit promontory overlooking Skaftafell glacier to Visit very impressive Svínafellsjökull glacier Jökulsárlón Ice lagoon–Where the James Bond Film ‘Die Another Day’ was made Climb the largest lateral moraine in Europe and see an ice-dammed lake and effects of glacial retreat

Day 5 “Volcano Day” Visit to island of Heimaey to climb volcano that erupted in 1973 and its effects on the town

Ferry to Heimaey to see Eldfell – one of the world’s youngest volcanoes Walking up to the Crater cone of Eldfell 20 minutes to Heimaey

explore the living system of a moving glacier with crevasses, pressure ridges, sink-holes, melt-water channels Ultima Thule/Adrenalin operates tours on Sólheimajökull Outlet Glacier They provide crampons, harnesses, ropes etc. and even some stiff boots for clients that show up in their bunny slippers

Day 6 Blue Lagoon Day Into the Reykjanes peninsular: hot springs, mud pots and sinter pools To the Blue Lagoon with its steam rooms and sauna to finish the trip Iceland Air Flight FI 454 to Heathrow departs at 1610 hrs arriving back at 2010 hrs

The main roads can be deceptive!! Travel will be by coach – the driver and guide will stay with us throughout

Accommodation: we stay in hotels or ‘Farmhouse Hotels’ typically 2-3 in an en-suite room. Party members need to take their own towels, a sleeping bag (not winter season as every place is heated) and pillow slip Suitcase with wheels so it can be pulled is advisable
