HOW A CORPORATE DESIGN RELAUNCH CAN INCREASE YOUR PROFIT AND SUCCESS DOES A CORPORATE DESIGN RELAUNCH MAKE SENSE FOR YOUR BUSINESS? If at least one of the following criteria applies to you, you should definitely consider relaunching your corporate design: • Your current corporate design was not created by a professional graphic designer. • You don‘t have a corporate design concept, but only a logo. (This would not really be a relaunch, but the development of a corporate design concept, based on the existing logo. Speaking from my experience, creating the corporate design concept goes hand in hand with a relaunch of the existing logo.) • You want to re-position your company/products in the market and clearly distinguish yourself from your old appearance. • You would like to change the image of your company and/or products. • Your products are in line with your target group‘s requirements, but are not accepted. • Your profit is decreasing and there is no logical explanation for it. • Your competitors take away valuable parts of your market share. • A few years after founding your company, you discover who your target groups really are and want to focus on marketing your specialities towards them. WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT? There are a few things you have to consider before relaunching your corporate design: • • • • • The target group(s) must be clearly determined. You have to understand your target group(s) and how they think. Your target market‘s current and future developments have to be taken into account. The new corporate design must conform with your company‘s philosophy. How should your target group(s) think about your product(s)? What image shall it transport? What shall your product stand for? The answers to these questions have to be translated into your new corporate design by a professional graphic designer. • Take design trends into account. Also here, consulting a professional graphic designer is of high importance. But: A corporate design relaunch does not guarantee a rise in success! It has to go hand in hand with good products and good service. A great visual appearance is of no value when the products and service behind it are poor. To maximise the potential success of good products and good service, they need to be supported by a smart corporate design concept. This is why my business has undergone a complete corporate design relaunch in December 2012. Summer Winter Autumn Christmas Halloween New Year‘s Eve The trend towards flexible logos is getting bigger and will be future-leading. As I am a freelance designer, I stand at the beginning of the information chain when it comes to upcoming design trends. With my flexible logos, I could establish a competitive advantage. NORDKYN: AWARD WINNING DESIGN + INCREASED RESPONSE Sticking with the topic "flexible logos". In August 2013, eight months after I had released my flexible logos for HCG corporate designs, the German Page magazine featured a story about flexible logos. The Scandinavian tourist region Nordkyn (http://deutsch.visitnordkyn.com/) got a new corporate design with a logo that changes its look depending on wind and weather (see examples on the next page). According to the Page magazine, this concept was awarded with several design prizes, more travel agents responded to its design and Nordkyn has new touristic perspectives. RANDALL RECORDS: 8 TIMES AS MUCH PROFIT FROM LIVE SHOWS In autumn 2012, I did a corporate design relaunch for the English record label Randall Records. At the same promotion effort as before, the booking fee of Randall Record‘s main act (C Randall) could be doubled by spring 2014. At the same time, the number of live shows of C Randall increased fourfold. BLICKPUNKT LKW + BUS: +10% IN 3 YEARS In 2010, I did an editorial design relaunch for Austria‘s largest transport magazine "Blickpunkt LKW + BUS". An editorial design is no corporate design, but it is still extremely important for a magazine. I would even say, that a magazine‘s editorial design is much more important than the corporate design of the publisher the magazine is published by.
