Slavery • Slaves became an important part of american economy • in the 17th to 19th centuries • 25% of people in America are slaves

Thirteen colonies • New England colonies ( Connecticut, New Hampshire) • Middle colonies (New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey) • Southern colonies (Maryland, Virginia, Georgia)

The Pilgrims • The Pilgrims – religion persecution, 1620 (Mayflower) • Squanto was native American who helped Pilgrims to survive the first winter in America, he was a member of Patuxet tribe. • Thanksgiving (The 4th Thursday in November 1621 )
