Haloclean ® project Haloclean ® was born as a research project aimed at finding a way to recycle part of the electronic waste (WEEE) through a innovative pyrolysis process, funded by the European Commission in two rounds (1999-2005) Developed in cooperation with several European partners, with a strong contribution from FZK Patented by Sea Marconi in Europe (EP 1354172 B1) and in several non European countries (PCT) At present the most promising application for this technology is the conversion of biomass into intermediate fuels for heat and power generation Haloclean ® BioEnergy

Haloclean ® Pyrolysis Haloclean ® is a proprietary intermediate pyrolysis process In case some specific “valuable” biomasses are used (e.g. woody or oil bearing biomass) the process can be coupled with minor modifications with cogeneration system based on engines specifically adapted for low heating value fuels

A 10 year long research cooperation Current process layout and its technical setup were developed during a long scientific research cooperation started in 1999 (2005 for biomass applications) with Prof. Andreas Hornung (formerly at FZK – Germany) During these years many application scenarios have been considered and several primary and residual biomasses have been tested in lab scale (up to ~10 kg/h) in pilot scale (up to ~100 kg/h)
