Grow Your Business 100X AN INTRODUCTION What makes you so different? That’s the battle cry of our youth when we accused someone of being better than us. If you own a business, it better be your battle cry as well. But you don’t have to be the best. You just have to stand out. You need to be different and resonate with your prospective buyers. With over 5000 daily marketing messages bombarding the consumer, how can we expect them to remember our message? Marketing geniuses work on branding year in and year out and when, finally, the marketplace views their brand as THE go-to-source for a specific product or service they continue to reinforce the brand and tweak it, year in and year out so the marketplace doesn’t forget them. It’s not easy to stand out in today’s crowded marketplace. Years ago the newspaper ad print media was the only place to advertise. Then radio. Next TV. But this pretty much was a mass appeal marketplace. One ad had to do a lot since it had one chance to make an impact. With the advent of the internet, custom tailoring your message became more than necessary. It became essential. With TV, mom was usually the targeted audience. Today, even mom’s children are being targeted as a separate buying group. Can you count the number of buying groups that exist? Baby boomers, fitness, nutrition, electronics, moms, moms to be……and on and on. No, you probably couldn’t list all the market segments that exist. They’re just too many. Now we live in a marketing world of relationship building to a very specific group. And this relationship building is enhanced by providing valuable information, gifting great content to genuinely help someone who is looking but also to prove you’re the one to go to when the buying decision is finally ready to be made.

Somebody, some business is at the front of the consumer’s mind or the business’s mind when that buying decision is finally being made. How it got there is by that business carving out a memorable and meaningful identity and continually reinforcing that identity through a variety of media. We call that the Unique Sales Position or USP. But there are times when the marketplace is so crowded…… did you ever see more than one pizza place in town?...... that you have to do more than be unique. You have to offer greater value.
