EAST OTTAWA GENERALS 2008 SPONSORSHIP GUIDE :  EAST OTTAWA GENERALS 2008 SPONSORSHIP GUIDE WHO ARE THE EAST OTTAWA GENERALS?:  WHO ARE THE EAST OTTAWA GENERALS? The East Ottawa Generals are 1 of 15 member clubs of the National Capital Amateur Football Association (NCAFA) – the largest Minor Football Association in Canada – with expansion again in 2008 (Carleton Place) and 2009 (Aylmer). The Generals operate in the inner city communities which has presented challenges to any youth sports programs. As such – the Generals are the last remaining competitive sports outlet for youth in these communities. The Generals took over the former non-profit corporation known as the Rochester Lions in the late 1990’s. After losing 136 straight regular season games – forfeiting 29 times and folding 3 teams – we took over this club. Over the past 4 years – no forfeits – no folded teams – 26 regulars season wins and 2 Championships. The National Capital Amateur Football Association graduates more players on to Junior, CIS, NCAA, CFL and NFL then any other minor football league in Canada. WHO ARE THE EAST OTTAWA GENERALS?:  WHO ARE THE EAST OTTAWA GENERALS? WHY SPONSOR THE EAST OTTAWA GENERALS?:  WHY SPONSOR THE EAST OTTAWA GENERALS? Interesting fact about our demographic Lowertown City Barrhaven Incidence of Low Income Cut–Offs 38.7% 11.7% 4.8% The EAST OTTAWA GENERALS build a stronger community through the PASSION, DEVELOPMENT and COMPETITIVE SPIRIT of these young players and families. Registration fees would typically cover 60% to 70% of a clubs expenses. Our fees range from $150 to $250 per player per year – depending on the level - for tackle programs. This is 20% to 30% lower than many of our peers – yet – 50% to 60% of our members cannot afford this. In order for the Generals to be viable – Sponsorship from local business will have to cover 50% to 60% of our clubs expenses. The Generals offer a unique opportunity in the region by associating your brand with a program that is severely disadvantaged yet has found a way to persevere and fights hard to compete with the best that the region has to offer. The (4) East Ottawa Generals tackle teams will compete in an intense regular season and playoff schedule. They have also started the new Ottawa Spring Football League (OSFL), Girl’s Touch and Dance Team Programs. With over 5,000 members and volunteers in NCAFA and the estimated additional 10,000 that follow our programs – we can offer you more than just a “feel good” story – but – exposure for your business. You get the benefit of big league visibility at a fraction of the cost. THE BENEFICIARIES:  THE BENEFICIARIES Youth in our community are the main beneficiaries. Many are categorized as At-Risk Youth – many are labeled as disadvantaged and / or unprivileged. We simply have 5 to 10 times as many of these kids as our peers. We can never eliminate the Risks that these children face and they will never be labeled as advantaged or privileged – however … We can give them the chance to develop the characteristics and the skills needed to be contributing members of society and perhaps the community leaders of tomorrow. It does not end there – there are many more Beneficiaries. Lower crime – better communities – fewer problems. The Community – Businesses – Residents and all Tax Payers benefit. Winning 6 of the 11 tournaments they entered – the Hitmen are becoming one of the Regions most elite programs and 2008 will prove to be even more exciting. The 4th annual Victoria Day Classic will take place in 2008. This tournament has grown over 400% from year 1 to year 3. Last years event attracted many elite teams from the National Capital Region – and – other areas of Ontario and Quebec. In addition it has now appealed to programs from Eastern Canada, Connecticut, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The Ottawa Spring Football League (OSFL) will begin its first season in 2008. A unique 6 on 6 format (full equipment) has been developed and will be introduced to children predominantly in the inner city communities that we spoke of earlier. The program is being constructed in such a way that it can easily be expanded. The OSFL has already caught the attention of Football Canada which will be lending its support and using this new format as a pilot for their own development model. Participants will be required to pay a registration fee – however – an application has been made in an attempt to make the first year – fully funded – this will allow us to truly track demand. If any of these programs / events are attractive to you – let us know and we can package something with the East Ottawa Generals.
