Welcome to Firm Beliefs’ Ideas and Techniques Focus March 2014 How do we keep our stakeholders us with us for the long term? Go back to basics…What are we providing? What are we charging/asking for? www.firmbeliefs.co.uk

Question 1 – what are we providing? www.firmbeliefs.co.uk What value do we add to stakeholders? What do we ‘do for them’ that makes a difference to them? Purchasers of services/products Investors Employees Donors Beneficiaries Etc

Question 2 – what are they doing for us in return? What are they providing us with at the moment? Loyalty Repeat business Continued support Income Etc www.firmbeliefs.co.uk

Critical Question 3… Is what we are providing what they value? • Are they ‘giving to us’ for something they don’t need/want? • Are we missing out on asking them to ‘give to us’ for the real value? www.firmbeliefs.co.uk

Ask them… 1. What value do we add to your organisation? 2. Does it match what we are asking you to pay/give in return? 3. Is there a mismatch? www.firmbeliefs.co.uk Ask yourself… 1. Are we adding more value than we think we are for them? 2. Are we being recompensed for that? 3. Is there a mismatch?

Focus your internal systems where you add the most value to your stakeholders. It is that which they will ‘value’ in you and it is what will keep them with you for the long term. www.firmbeliefs.co.uk Put your energies where you add the value to your stakeholders. It is for that value that they will pay/benefit you.

So – every now and then – ponder this… What do we do that adds most value to whom? Is that what they are ‘valuing’ in us at the moment? Is what we are ‘charging’ for what they are actually benefitting from the most? If not… Our business model is a little awry. www.firmbeliefs.co.uk
