Doctor Allegedly Used Body Fat As Fuel Liposuction Remains Supposedly Used For Biodiesel POSTED: 5:43 am PST December 23, 2008     A Beverly Hills surgeon used body fat taken from his patients during liposuction to fuel two SUVs, according to a report on . The site said Dr. Craig Alan Bittner turned the fat into biodiesel, which is more commonly made from vegetable oils, though analysts said about half of the U.S. supply comes from beef or pig byproducts. "The vast majority of my patients request that I use their fat for fuel -- and I have more fat than I can use," Bittner wrote on his Web site, Forbes said. The site was not functional Tuesday morning. "Not only do they get to lose their love handles or chubby belly but they get to take part in saving the Earth." Forbes said it is illegal in California to use medical waste to power vehicles, and Bittner was being investigated by the state's public health department. The fueling operation was reportedly discovered when patients complained about Bittner's medical abilities. Forbes also said Bittner has closed his practice and moved to South America. Bittner's lawyer did not return calls from Forbes.

Saudi court tells girl aged EIGHT she cannot divorce husband who is 50 years her senior Last updated at 9:49 AM on 22nd December 2008 A Saudi court has rejected a plea to divorce an eight-year-old girl married off by her father to a man who is 58, saying the case should wait until the girl reaches puberty. The divorce plea was filed in August by the girl's divorced mother with a court at Unayzah, 135 miles north of Riyadh just after the marriage contract was signed by the father and the groom. Lawyer Abdullar Jtili said:"The judge has dismissed the plea, filed by the mother, because she does not have the right to file such a case, and ordered that the plea should be filed by the girl herself when she reaches puberty." Grooms take part in a mass wedding ceremony in Riyadh in June. Governor of Riyadh Prince Salman and a local group organized a mass wedding for about 1600 couples to help people unable to afford expensive ceremonies. "She doesn't know yet that she has been married," Jtili said then of the girl who was about to begin her fourth year at primary school. Relatives who did not wish to be named said that the marriage had not yet been consummated, and that the girl continued to live with her mother. They said that the father had set a verbal condition by which the marriage is not consummated for another 10 years, when the girl turns 18. The father had agreed to marry off his daughter for an advance dowry of £5,000, as he was apparently facing financial problems, they said. The father was in court and he remained adamant in favour of the marriage, they added. Mr Jtili said he was going to appeal the verdict at the court of cassation, the supreme court in the ultra-conservative kingdom which applies Islamic Sharia law in its courts. Arranged marriages involving pre-adolescents are occasionally reported in the   Arabian Peninsula, including in Saudi Arabia where    the strict conservative Wahabi version of Sunni Islam holds sway and polygamy is common. In Yemen in April, another girl aged eight was granted a divorce after her unemployed father forced her to marry a man of 28.   Mail Online

Teacher Accused Of Sexual Relations With Student At Home, On Dirt Roads Thursday, December 18, 2008 – updated: 5:53 am EST December 19, 2008 TROUP COUNTY, Ga. -- The Troup County Sheriff's Office said a former cheerleading coach has been arrested on charges of having an inappropriate relationship with a young teenage boy. Investigators charged Elizabeth Gaddy, 45, a current teacher at Callaway Middle School in Hogansville, with child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes. Gaddy is accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old male student. Police said Gaddy had been having sexual contact with him for several months. Sgt. Kelli Ellington said some of the alleged behavior occurred at Gaddy's home in Hogansville and also on dirt roads in Troup County. Ellington said none of the alleged behavior occurred on school grounds. Gaddy was already on administrative leave because of a previous investigation into allegations of inappropriate contact with students. Ellington said parents of cheerleaders complained about inappropriate close relationships between Gaddy and cheerleaders. "(The parents said) she was too close to them. (She was) writing them notes, text messaging them on certain occasions," said Ellington. "The information that we received from concerned parents and the investigation that was ongoing at the school involved allegations of professional misconduct, but it was actually the Troup County Sheriff's Department who uncovered the sexual misconduct allegations," said Ellington. Gaddy is being held in the Troup County Jail.

General George S. Patton was assassinated to silence his criticism of allied war leaders claims new book George S. Patton, America's greatest combat general of the Second World War, was assassinated after the conflict with the connivance of US leaders, according to a new book.   Last Updated: 5:09PM GMT 21 Dec 2008   The newly unearthed diaries of a colourful assassin for the wartime Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the forerunner of the CIA, reveal that American spy chiefs wanted Patton dead because he was threatening to expose allied collusion with the Russians that cost American lives. The death of General Patton in December 1945, is one of the enduring mysteries of the war era. Although he had suffered serious injuries in a car crash in Manheim, he was thought to be recovering and was on the verge of flying home. But after a decade-long investigation, military historian Robert Wilcox claims that OSS head General "Wild Bill" Donovan ordered a highly decorated marksman called Douglas Bazata to silence Patton, who gloried in the nickname "Old Blood and Guts". His book, "Target Patton", contains interviews with Mr Bazata, who died in 1999, and extracts from his diaries, detailing how he staged the car crash by getting a troop truck to plough into Patton's Cadillac and then shot the general with a low-velocity projectile, which broke his neck while his fellow passengers escaped without a scratch. Mr Bazata also suggested that when Patton began to recover from his injuries, US officials turned a blind eye as agents of the NKVD, the forerunner of the KGB, poisoned the general.   Telegraph

John Lennon's Nip Slip Dec 21st 2008 For $40,000, you can hear a wasted John Lennon sing about sucking nipples. Today, the auction house Bonham's is selling Lennon's outtake of the 1973 song "Just Because" to the highest bidder. P.S. -- Lennon re-recorded "Just Because" for his "Rock 'n' Roll" album in 1975.

2008-12-17 - AHN Dubai Hotel Plans To Refrigerate Beaches To Keep Guests Cool Miami, FL (AHN) -- A Dubai hotel is planning to refrigerate its beach so beachgoers won't burn their feet on the sand, a move likely to anger environmentalists who are concerned it will increase the country's carbon footprint. The proposal comes from the Palazzo Versace Hotel, and when completed, will include a system of heat absorbing pipes under the sand to make it more comfortable for people to walk on. The hotel is scheduled to open in either late 2009 or early 2010. It will also feature a cooled swimming pool for guests visiting the steamy Persian Gulf nation, where temperatures are known to climb as high as 122 degrees Fahrenheit. But the move has some environmental groups steaming. Rachel Noble, of the environmental organization Tourism Concern, said the project contributes to the country's decadent image and its contribution to global climate change. "Dubai is like a bubble world, where the things that are worrying the rest of the world, like climate change, are simply ignored so people can continue their destructive lifestyles," Noble was quoted saying in the Daily Mail.
