Significant Activity: February 21 – 22 Significant Events: • Severe Weather – Midwest to Mid-Atlantic (Final) • Major Disaster Declaration request for Maine • Amendment No. 1 to FEMA-3367-DR-PA Significant Weather: • Rain and thunderstorms – Central Gulf Coast • Red Flag Warnings: CO, TX & NM • Elevated Fire Weather Areas: Southwest & Southern Plains • Space Weather: No space weather storms observed; Minor/G1 geomagnetic storms predicted FEMA Readiness: No significant changes

Severe Weather – Midwest/Mid-Atlantic (Final) February 20-21, 2014 • Severe thunderstorms brought strong winds, large hail, heavy rain and possible tornadoes to the MS, OH and TN valleys and Mid-Atlantic before moving offshore into the Atlantic Ocean • 28 tornados were reported across nine states (IL, MO, NC, GA, MD, KY, MS, IN, OH) Impacts • Initial damage reports indicate limited/isolated damage to some homes and outbuildings • No widespread/significant property damage reported/identified; no injuries or fatalities • Impacts primarily downed trees and power lines resulting in power outages o Cumulative peak outages: 179k customers across all affected Regions o Majority of outages in FEMA Region III (49k), Region IV (45k) and Region V (84k) o Most outages restored; fewer than 12k outages remain across all affected Regions (*DOE EAGLE-I, as of 8:30 a.m. EST) Response • SEOCs in OH, MN, & GA remain Partially Activated; all other SEOCs are at Normal Ops • All FEMA Regions remain at Watch/Steady State • No shortfalls or requests for FEMA assistance *Note: Customer outage data is provided by the Department of Energy’s EAGLE-I system. Comprehensive National coverage of all electrical service providers is not available.
