Severe Weather Outbreak – Midwest Current Situation • Line of severe thunderstorms brought strong winds, hail and at least 11 possible tornadoes to the Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee valleys Impacts • No widespread/significant impacts reported • Primary impacts were limited damage to outbuildings & downed trees/power lines • Power outages: o Region IV: 29K customers (peak 39k) without power, (most in GA-10k & KY-9k) o Region V: 33K customers (peak 64k) without power (most in MN-12k & WI 8k) o Region VII: 12K customers (peak 30k) without power (*EAGLE-I, as of 7:45 am) State Response • IL EOC was partially activated, but returned to normal ops overnight • State EOCs in OH and WI remain partially activated for this storm • 1 shelter open in IL with 80 occupants • No unmet needs reported Region V Region IV FEMA Response • All FEMA Regions remain at Watch/Steady State • No requests for FEMA assistance *Note: Customer outage data is provided by the Department of Energy’s EAGLE-I system.
