Explaining how electricity occurs due to movement of electrons

Structure of atom All substances are made up of very tiny particles called atom. An atom contains electrons, protons and neutrons. - Electrons are negatively charged (-ve) + + Protons are positively charged (+ve) A normal atom has NO charge because they have equal number of protons (+ve) and electrons (-ve) - Neutrons are neutral (0 charge)

Inside an object Electrons move around the centre. Electrons CAN be added or removed from an atom Protons and neutrons are found in the nucleus (centre) of the atom. Protons CANNOT be added or removed in an atom easily

Inside an object When electrons move from one place to another (flow), there is electricity. Electron flow Note that only electrons move, the nucleus (protons & neutrons) do NOT move at all!
