Initiatives already taken by CCL 1. OITDS in Piparwar Project 2. RFID, CCTV, automatic weighment & boom barrier based monitoring system for contractor trucks in Ashoka project. 3. GPS, RFID, CCTV, automatic weighment & boom barrier based monitoring system for all coal carrying contractual vehicles in all mine of CCL Tenders floated 4 Bids received Work order to be placed by February end 9
Initiatives already taken by CCL 4. WAN installation connecting all units of CCL Work awarded to TCIL Likely to be completed by April end 5. CoalNet module to be operational from May’14 FUTURE PLANS: 1. ERP : ERP particularly the modules related to accounting, project management, human resources management, and supply chain management should be implemented in all coal companies. 2. In 33 cases the price discovered by reverse auction was even less than the estimated price. The system has increased the number of vendors from 50 to 165, and has reduced the cycle time by a month.( over 20 %). Cartel formation by contractors has gone down considerably. Geospatial Technology in Mining 1. Mine Planning – Topographical survey Topographical survey of 27 major coalfields on scale of 1:5000 , with 2 m contour interval based on remote sensing technique is under progress in CMPDI 2. Exploration : Regional Mapping Structural Mapping Geological Mapping Potential coal / mineral bearing zone can be located using hyper spectral satellite data . This is being done by CMPDI. 12

Site selection for Thermal Power Projects , Washeries and Route alignment: CMPDI, Geomatics division has suggested the sites of over 100 thermal power stations including many UMPP (ultra mega power projects). 14
