PowerPoint Presentation: Editing Ayesha Kissoon Pre-Editing: Pre-Editing Before filming “The Preliminary Task”, I had never used a Apple Mac, but it was essential for me to get used to them as we had to use them for editing purposes. The main software we were going to be using to edit was Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 so in order to understand how it worked, I started watching tutorials on Adobe.tv which helped me learn about the different things that could be done in Adobe Premiere Pro. I also watched tutorials on After Effects, Audition and Garageband so that I could use them effectively in the process of editing. For this opening sequence, I would say Oliver and I did an equal amount of visual and sound editing as we both did our fair share in both areas however Oliver spent more time on the editing as I had done most of the filming for the opening sequence. Visual Editing: We started off with the actual footage that we had shot in London and the ink shots that we had filmed. After we added some texture to the visuals and set the speed of the ink shot to 25%. Following that, we added the effect of paint bucket which we had found on Adobe Premiere Pro under Effects Controls on both the visuals and the ink shots and finally put the two together to create the final piece. Visual Editing First of all we cut the files to what we wanted to show in the opening sequence, then dragged it to the timeline when it was the size that corresponded to the sequence. Main Effect Visual Editing: Visual Editing Credits We created the credits in After Effects and added them onto the opening sequence in Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. Sound Editing: Sound Editing We took the track “Bet you can” by Kevin Macleod and imported into Audition as an Mp3 then edited the track in Audition before importing the into Adobe Premiere Pro. We also used Audition to dub Emily’s voice when she says “Goodnight Olga”. We also included some stings from Garageband that we thought would sound good in in our opening sequence and then imported them into Adobe Premiere Pro. In Adobe Premiere Pro, we cut the files to the sound we wanted, dragged them onto the audio timeline and moved it around until it sounded good.
