Introduction of what's going on in LGBT issues in Russia- Anti-gay laws/ culture (how these debates started) • Protests • Discussions • Boycott • Etc Russian Government- Putin Contradicting as other groups can do it ( groups such as religion) How people in the UK feel • British government • Stephen fry letter • Most people against (stats) 2.Discussion of the power/development/ popularity of social media 3. Introduce topic about the impact social media can have on groups (sexual identity) (Does it change meaning? Shock value) Example: 1. First lesbian TV 2. Britney and Madonna kiss (sexualised) 3. Comparison to videos in online age (pos/neg) • Lesbian sexual fetishes not capturing the romance. • Damaging to society because… (forms/negative/stereotypes) 4.Presenter to identify/explain the debates of the impact of social media on sexual identity
5. General public interviews about views on LGBT community (why have you got these views?) 6. General public interviews with what’s happening in Russia/ treatment of gay people 1. Lesbian 2. Gays 3. What are the positives/ negatives. 7. General public interviews about their exposure to material on social media about LGBT in Russia 1. How do you feel about these videos? 2. Presenter to introduce experiment/ case study ( How many people feel about current videos online) Introduce/ explain the videos 1.
