The most prominent finding of the study was that Millennials trust user generated content (UGC) 50% more than other forms of media. Millennials find UGC to be 35% more memorable than other forms of media and are also spending 30% of their media time (5 hours/day) engaged with it. 53% of those surveyed said that UGC influences their purchasing decisions. To put this number in perspective, the study found that all other forms of media combined only influence the purchasing decisions of 44% of those surveyed. Photo Credit: pedrosimoes7 Word of Mouth is the best marketing tool The key to driving sales isn’t traditional, expensive advertising and marketing campaigns, but rather conversations between Millennials i.e. word of mouth. Word of Mouth happens between young consumers not between brands & consumers. Brands need to build platforms that host conversations for Millennials to generate word of mouth.
