Trabalho realizado para a disciplina de Inglês (11ºano)

…around you, and neither can you see! Work realized for: Alexandra Soares; nr2 Joana Silva; nr17 Marisa Dias; 21

We are going to talk about racism, discrimination and violence. In this work we’ll try to show you how indirectly we are envolved in these themes and how we don’t really see them. Every day, we are indirectly envolved in these topics, through books, music, films and other artistic expressions.

Racism • Unfair treatment of people, or violence against them, because they belong to a different race from own. Discrimination • The practice of treating one person or group differently from another in an unfair way. Violence • The intentional use of physical force or power, against another person, or against a group or community, that injury, death, psychological harm, maldevelopment or deprivation.

Protection for gangs, clubs and nations Causing grief in human relations It's a turf war on a global scale I'd rather hear both sides of the tale See, it's not about races Just places, faces Where your blood comes from Is where your space is I've seen the bright get duller I'm not going to spend my life being a color [Michael] Don't tell me you agree with me When I saw you kicking dirt in my eye

1st : But if you only have love for your own race Then you only leave space to discriminate And to discriminate only generates hate And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah Badness is what you demonstrate And that's exactly how anger works and operates Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight Take control of your mind and meditate Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all 2nd : If love and peace is so strong Why are there pieces of love that don't belong? Nations dropping bombs Chemical gasses filling lungs of little ones With ongoing suffering as the youth die young

3rd : I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders As I'm getting older, y'all, people gets colder Most of us only care about money making Selfishness got us following our wrong direction 4th : Yo', whatever happened to the values of humanity Whatever happened to the fairness in equality Instead in spreading love we spreading animosity Lack of understanding, leading lives away from unity

 With this work we have learned the warning for discrimination and other social problems are around us and most of the time we can’t see them.  We hope that you can be more attentive to the little messages that are around us and we don’t give the fair value.

Think about that…
