A chronic pain sufferer for many years, Lynn knows first-hand how one moment in your life can change the chapters of your life story forever. A pop singer and performer, it was on stage where Lynn was first introduced to pain. "After a disabling state accident in 2006, I was left in a wheelchair due to severe neck and head injuries with spinal cord damage in addition to suffering from Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and Fibromyalgia," recalled Lynn. "I slowly and painfully learned to do many things over again, including walking, over the next 6 years." Tragedy struck again for the Massachusetts resident, as Lynn was a survivor of the devastating 2013 Boston Marathon bombing attack. She escaped with a brain injury, back injury, hearing loss, severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and constant tinnitus, all leaving her in chronic, daily pain and anxiety. Despite having to face these difficult chapters in her life, Lynn will be race-walking the 2014 Boston Marathon. Though she has never been a runner, Lynn's appreciation for being a survivor is one of several driving forces behind her determination. "It is my daily struggle that inspired me to race-walk the Boston Marathon to raise money for the U.S. Pain Foundation," Lynn explains. "By enduring additional daily pain as I train for the first run of my life, I hope to inspire others who live in pain as well." Lynn's message is one of hope as she says Hope is free, easy to share and pain warriors alike should never let anyone take that away from them. Fighting her way out of a wheelchair, Lynn affirms she is going to fight her way across the finish line during this year's marathon, honoring the over 100 million Americans who suffer with pain on a daily basis. Her story is one of bravery and spirit, and the U.S. Pain Foundation could not be more proud of having such a Pain Ambassador raising awareness for our cause.
