Error: Sun Feb 16 15:58:54 GMT [dst-filer:replication.dst.err:error]: SnapMirror: destination transfer from filer04:vol_appsdata to filer06:vol_appsdata : destination in use as source of SnapVault for NetBackup, dump, vol copy or SnapMirror. Symptoms: Snapmirror update goes to pending state. Cause: As the error indicates, this can happen during snapvaulting, netbackup, dump, vol copy or cascade snapmirror operation. I have encountered this error during vol copy process. During vol copy process [i.e. vol copying the snapmirrored volume for testing dedupe savings] the destination volume [which is a source during the vol copy process] is locked and in use for vol copy process. Therefore, snapmirror update cannot replicate the blocks from the source volume to the destination volume. What to do: Nothing, this is normal. Once the vol copy process completes, pending snapmirror state will turn green [transferring state]. email@example.com
