Desider at a Pr esent ed by Br enda

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may in silence.

As f ar as possible, wit hout sur r ender , be on good t er ms wit h all per sons.

Speak your t r ut h quiet ly and clear ly, and list en t o ot her s, even t o t he dull and ignor ant ; t hey t oo have t heir st or y.

Avoid loud and aggr essive per sons; t hey ar e vexat ious t o t he spir it .

If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, f or always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself .

Enj oy your achievement s as well as your plans.

Keep int er est ed in your own car eer however humble; it is a r eal possession in t he changing f or t unes of t ime.

Exer cise caut ion in your business af f air s, f or t he wor ld is f ull of t r icker y.

But let t his not blind you t o what vir t ue t her e is; many per sons st r ive f or high ideals, and ever ywher e lif e is f ull of her oism.

B yourself . e Especially do not f eign af f ection.

Neither be cynical about love, f or in t he f ace of all ar idit y and disenchant ment , it is as per ennial as t he gr ass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracef ully surrendering the things of youth.

Nur t ur e st r engt h of spir it t o shield you in sudden misf or t une.

But do not dist r ess your self wit h dar k imaginings. Many f ear s ar e bor n of f at igue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gent le wit h your self .

You ar e a child of t he univer se no less t han t he t r ees and t he st ar s; you have a r ight t o be her e.

And whet her or not it is clear t o you, no doubt t he univer se is unf olding as it should.

Ther ef or e, be at peace wit h God,

And what ev er your l abor s and as pi r at i ons , i n t he noi s y c onf us i on of keep peace in your soul.

Be cheer f ul!!! Wit h all it s sham, dr udger y, and br oken dr eams, it is st ill a beaut if ul wor ld.

P eace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be af raid. ~Jesus~ John 14: 27 THE END
