•As the chief executive officer of AMR Inc., LLC, David Zahler serves as the leader of California's premier temporary and permanent staffing company. Active in helping veterans find employment, David Zahler also offers industryleading compensation benefit packages for employees.

•Creating a successful compensation benefit package requires a significant amount of research and planning. These packages consist of numerous and potentially expensive components that employees often rely on when planning for the present and future. Important elements include a retirement savings plan, such as a 401(k), the amount of vacation time and other time off, and flexible spending accounts to assist with other expenses.

•However, health insurance is generally the most costly part of a benefits package. Developers have to consider which of the primary health insurance options they wish to offer. The most popular option, health maintenance organizations (HMO), requires the employee to choose a primary care physician from the HMO network who can recommend specialists within the same group. Common among large corporations, preferred provider organizations are more expensive because they allow recipients to visit medical professionals outside of their network. Alternatively, high-deductible health plans have found favor among start-up companies due to their younger employees’ less pressing need for regular health care. Some businesses can also choose a self-insurance option, which allows them to set up their own coverage system.
