I have also taken on roles in the leadership of corporate social responsibility, project management, human resource management and in the development of global policy. Work Experience Group Health and Safety Manager January 2014 to present GBN Services Limited Overhauled and re-launched the company management system policy, processes, procedures and standards for the combined company management system covering FORS (Freight Operator Recognition Scheme), ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and BS OHSAS 18001 certification. Developed the company management system to incorporate human resource management, to simplify management controls into a single corporate system. Maintained the existing certifications to FORS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and BS OHSAS 18001 while the system was overhauled and re-launched. Developed and maintained the company extranet as a means of making ‘live’ documents available in a single controlled website, enabling managers and others to quickly and simply access necessary documentation on-line, and in the knowledge that the extranet site contains the up to date version of all necessary documentation. The extranet is also made available to auditors and regulators for controlled time periods to enable their activities to be completed in an efficient manner. I am the leader of the management team across GBN for all matters. I mentor and coach my colleagues as appropriate to help them achieve the very best in their activities, and work collaboratively with directors and managers on the achievement of company targets, both those set within the company management system, and those set elsewhere by customers, regulators and legislation. I act as the internal auditor to ensure that we not only follow the management systems but we learn from non-compliances. As the internal auditor I also assess our compliance with legislation to ensure we remain complaint and ensure our continuous improvements cover all aspects of our activities.

David Wolfenden CV Page 2 of 4 May 2016 Environmental, Health and Safety Manager June 2010 to January 2014 T-Systems Limited part of Deutsche Telekom AG Developed, implemented and maintained the UK-wide policy, processes and procedures for ISO 14001, and BS OHSAS 18001 certification. Initial joint certification was achieved in February 2011. Gaining certification required the commitment of all levels throughout the company. Success is noticeable in the company results for the reduction in accident rates and the increase in the near miss (near hit / close call) reporting. Developed and maintained the company database for recording environmental, health and safety metrics in a way that the data can be extracted for reporting to the parent company and to UK bodies such as the Environment Agency for the Carbon Reduction Commitment, Energy Efficiency Scheme. I am a member of a global working group specifying top level standards for Deutsche Telekom in the fields of environmental management and health and safety management. Working collaboratively with directors in the development of Corporate Social Responsibility policy and processes including sustainability, employee engagement, wellbeing and social targets and the reporting throughout the business on the achievement of these targets. A member of the Process, Quality and Security Leadership Team which is the cross-functional board where all policies and processes are reviewed and approved for use within the UK. Interim Health and Safety Manager January 2009 to December 2009 Holdfast Training Services a special purpose vehicle comprising Babcock Defence and Carillion plc. Developed and implemented an holistic SHEF (safety, health, environment and fire) management system for the 30-year PPP at the Royal School of Military Engineering (RSME); incorporating civilian contractors sub-contractors and MOD bodies. Included gaining ISO 14001 accreditation for both Holdfast Training Services and Babcock Defence. Set up and maintained a reporting systems to ensure adequate and accurate data is collected, collated and reported monthly with appropriate analysis. Acted as the subject matter expert to both the MD and directors of Holdfast Training Services and the Brigadier and senior officers of the RSME. Helped army commanders improve their understanding of safety management in tactical situations. Developed, launched and maintained the behavioural campaign (Don’t Walk By) across the RSME and Holdfast Training Services. Through auditing and compliance checking helped drive forward improvements in SHEF at army training sites in Kent, Surrey, Oxfordshire and Leicestershire. By raising the prominence of health and safety to equal with other objectives helped break down functional resistance. Set the standard and quality for health and safety strategies, policies and processes, including an auditing protocol and program. Led an investigation into the failure of the lone worker protection system.

Led the implementation of processes that reduced the road traffic accident rate by 10%, and maintained the downward trend, the same processes also delivered a 10% fuel saving across a fleet of over 550 vehicles. Interpreted legislation and industry standards and developed company policy and procedures to ensure legislative compliance. Led investigations into serious accidents, including fatalities and ensured recommendations were implemented within the organisation and brought the finding to the industry body (ESA) so lessons could be cascaded across the waste management industry. Trained employees at all levels throughout the company in health, safety, environmental, transport and loss control. Including leading regular meetings for the sharing of knowledge and ideals and as a forum for generating recommendations for changes in policy and processes.
