Reflections… : Reflections… STEWARDSHIP We are co-creators with God, therefore, we must do what we can to preserve God’s creation We believe that human beings are stewards of the environment. A steward is someone who doesn’t own land but looks after it.  It is the duty of people to look after the Earth and pass it on to the next generation. SUFFICIENCY we shouldn’t be driven too much by consumerism, we must know what we need, and not just get what we want desire for better living conditions leads to depletion of resources without giving it time to replenish  thus the need for “Sabbath” Illiteracy / lack of education pose a problem to conservation efforts Philippine Context : Philippine Context We must be vigilant and we must have the political will to enact laws. The citizens must also do their part. Philippine Context : Philippine Context Depletion of resources is not just the concern of those in charge in the national level but it should also be a concern in the local level. Philippine Context : Philippine Context Choose leaders who are environment-conscious, or at least advocates environmental consciousness. New taxation. Slide 47: Promoting social equality is of utmost importance. Our goal must be sustainable development. It is necessary to transform apathy to vigilance and action to succeed in conservation projects. The media could be utilized to re-inculturate.
