Liposuction Liposuction (also known as lipoplasty, liposculpture, suction-assisted body contouring, suction lipectomy and lipo suction) is a surgical procedure that involves the use of an instrument known as a cannula and a vacuum pump machine to remove unwanted fat from a specific area. The cannula is connected to the pump by a tube and is inserted into the areas of fat to be removed through small incisions. The surgeon then moves the cannula tip back and forth to break up the fat, which is then sucked out through the tube.

Body Care Invasive Candidates / Indications: Liposuction is an ideal procedure for improving contours of the body, which are out of proportion with the overall form, just by removing the excess fat deposits. Even after efforts to tone up the body through exercise and slim down through a healthy diet, sometimes a fat deposit remains stubbornly in place despite overall weight loss. However, under the guidance of a specialist, this can be expertly sculpted by doing away with the unwanted fat, thereby, improving your figure and confidence. You should be at a steady weight and within about 20% of your ideal body weight, although some surgeons say you can be anywhere from 15 to 30% of ideal weight. Liposuction is not a way to lose weight. Except for rare instances, it is for people who are close to their ideal body weight and who have areas of fat that resist diet and exercising. The skin plays a role in whether you are a good candidate. You should have healthy skin with good elasticity, so that your skin is able to bounce back to its former tightness once the fat is removed. If you are having liposuction over a larger area, excess skin removal may also be necessary. If you have excessive stretch marks in areas where you gained weight or over your abdomen if you were pregnant, this may be a good indication of poor elasticity. Liposuction can also remove pockets of fat or other tissue that are caused by medical conditions or medications. The 'buffalo hump' caused by anti-HIV drugs can be removed with liposuction.

Body Care Invasive Common Treatment Areas Ankles and Calves Neck, Cheeks and Chin Inner Knee Thighs, Hips and Buttocks Waist and Abdomen Back and Chest Area, Upper Arms Procedure Liposuction is a relatively simple procedure. The excess fat is removed by either: Liquefying fat through ultrasonic energy applied to the specified area of treatment and then removing it with suction Or by injecting a solution of saline and adrenaline prior to the removal of fat, thus, saturating the fat deposit Or with traditional liposuction that involves insertion of a suction device into the subcutaneous fat (underneath the skin) without primary chemical or ultrasonic measures Liposuction may be combined with Abdominoplasty as part of a Mommy Makeover, where a set of procedures are designed to restore the body to pre-baby condition. Result Following the procedure the treated area will experience bruising and mild swelling. Results are noticeable within two to four weeks with the final desired appearance seen in two to six months.

Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty) An abdominoplasty is a major surgical procedure that removes both excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and tightens the muscles of the abdominal wall. While this procedure produces a permanent, and sometimes, a long scar, it can significantly reduce the appearance of a protruding abdomen and smooth the contour of the body dramatically.

Body Care Invasive Candidates / Indications: Candidates for Abdominoplasty are men or women who are in relatively good health, are minimally or moderately overweight, and bothered by a large fat deposit and loose abdominal skin that won't respond to diet or exercise. The tummy tuck surgery is particularly helpful to women who, through multiple pregnancies, have stretched their abdominal muscles and skin beyond the point where they can return to normal. Loss of skin elasticity in older patients can be improved. Also, the large volumes of excess skin produced by significant weight loss are well can be addressed by the tummy tuck procedure. Procedure For a full tummy tuck, a horizontal incision is made between the navel and the pubic hairline. A separate incision is made around the navel. The size of the incision is determined by the amount of skin that will be removed. A limited tummy tuck or mini tummy tuck is ideal for removing excess on the lower abdomen below the navel in the absence of excess skin on the upper abdomen. A shorter incision is made at the pubic bone. Excess fat may be removed with liposuction during a tummy tuck, and the procedure may also be performed along with breast augmentation and breast lift as a part of the mommy makeover, where a set of procedures are designed to restore the body to pre-baby condition.

Body Care Invasive Result Results are difficult to be noticed immediately because during the first few days following surgery standing fully upright is not possible. Standing comfortably may be done after one week when the swelling lessens.

Breast Augmentation Many women dream of having a fuller and shapely bust line. Today, with the help of advanced technological and surgical developments, it is possible for an expert to provide the most natural looking results for women interested in increasing or optimizing the breast size. Candidates / Indication: Use of breast implants is very common now, especially in women in their twenties or as a part of the mommy makeover, where a set of procedures are designed to restore the body to pre-baby condition that also typically includes a breast lift and tummy tuck. There are many good reasons to have breast augmentation surgery, but some of the most popular include:

Body Care Invasive • • • • • • • • To increase confidence and self-esteem If a you feel your breasts are too small To improve your body image To make you look better in clothes If your breasts are different in size and/or shape To restore lost size that occurs from weight loss or breast feeding If your breasts are sagging or have lost firmness For reconstructive purpose due to breast cancer or other disease Procedure For breast augmentation, small incisions are made to place the implants under the breast tissue and/or the underlying muscle instead of placing them over the muscle. However, depending on the individual and how much breast tissue is naturally present, implants may also be placed over the muscle. Your doctor will help you decide on what type of incision, placement and type of implant would suit you the best. Saline vs Gel Implants: Breast implants are of two types: Saline and Gel. Saline breast implants consist of a silicone rubber shell that is either pre-filled or inflated to the desired size with sterile saline during surgery. Most of these implants have a valve that is sealable by the surgeon.

Body Care Invasive The gel breast implants have an outer shell, also made of silicone, which is filled with a fixed amount of silicone gel. Gel implants vary in shell surface shape, profile, volume, shell thickness and number of shell lumens. However, silicone gel-filled implants do not have an adjustable fill range. Gel breast implants tend to cost slightly more than saline implants, but most patients say they find the feel and look of gel implants to be more natural. Also, some surgeons are of the opinion that gel implants have a more natural look and feel than saline implants because silicone gel has a texture that is similar to the breast tissue. Results The results of breast augmentation surgery are immediately visible. Over time, post-surgical swelling will resolve and incision lines will fade. Satisfaction with your new image should continue to grow as you recover and realize the fulfillment of your goal for fuller breasts. Are Breast Implants Safe? The Institute of Medicine has concluded that there is 'no definitive evidence linking breast implants to cancer, neurological diseases, neurological problems or other systemic diseases.' In 2006, the FDA approved the use of silicone gel breast implants after the single largest patient study ever conducted, in cooperation with Mentor Corporation.

Breast Reduction (Mammoplasty) Breast reduction, or reduction mammoplasty (sometimes spelled mammaplasty), is the surgery to reduce the size of the breasts to improve the life of the patient. Large, heavy breasts are often associated with severe back pain, shoulder grooving, neck pain, and rashes under the breasts. A woman may also feel self-conscious or embarrassed because of the disproportionate size of her breasts. However, with Reduction Mammoplasty it is possible to create a more balanced, bettershaped breast and reduce strain on the body by removing fat, glandular tissue and skin from the breasts, making them smaller and lighter. Also, the size of the areola (i.e. the darker skin surrounding the nipple) can be reduced.

Body Care Invasive Candidate / Indication When one has very large breasts, it is difficult to exercise, play sports, swim, fit into clothing, or even function on a daily basis without pain. Macromastia can have a negative impact on a woman's quality of life; breast reduction can correct it and enhance her life. Breast reduction surgery may be an option for you if you have backaches, neckaches or stasis ulcers (skin irritation or death of skin tissue due to pressure), if you have difficulty breathing, notice grooves in your shoulders from your bra straps, have numbness of any portion of the breasts and upper chest from the excessive weight, are displeased aesthetically, or dislike the general size of your breasts for any reason. Many patients who seek breast reduction are either postpartum, overweight, have a predisposition for large, disproportionate breasts, or had sensitivity to oestrogen during development or pregnancy. Big breasts often run in the family, inherited from mother and grandmother. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) classifies breast reduction surgery as a reconstructive, rather than cosmetic, procedure because it is done to correct a physical or medical problem rather than strictly to improve appearance. First and foremost, you must be in good health, with no active diseases or pre-existing medical conditions and you must have realistic expectations of the outcome of your surgery. Your skin must have good elasticity so that it can bounce back to its former tightness postsurgery.

Body Care Invasive Procedure Breast reduction surgery requires about 3 to 4 hours of operating time under general anesthesia. The incision is shaped like a keyhole or inverted T, around the areola and sometimes within the breast crease. Using liposuction, fat is removed and glandular tissue is removed by surgical excision. Excess skin is also removed to reshape and tone the breasts. The result is reduction in the size and elevation of the breast for a more youthful appearance. Result The recovery time is approximately two weeks. Some aching, swelling, bruising and changes in skin sensation are normal during this time. Besides the prescribed medications to control discomfort, the patient would also be advised to wear a special surgical bra.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy) Through aging the skin loses elasticity and the breasts begin to sag. Mastopexy involves removal of excess skin to raise the breasts for giving a firmer and younger appearance. A breast lift may also be combined with breast implants or breast reduction surgery to restore or reduce breast volume as desired. Candidate / Indication: A good breast lift candidate should meet the following basic requirements: • Age 18 or older • In good physical and emotional health • Not pregnant, and not planning to become pregnant • Currently at or near the goal weight • Have at least a moderate degree of sagging of the breasts

Body Care Invasive Plain Breast Lift: A candidate for a breast lift surgery without augmentation or reduction will not want a change in breast size. This candidate will like the size of her breasts, just not their positioning. Breast Lift with Augmentation: Women who want bigger breasts with better positioning on the chest wall would probably benefit from breast augmentation. This procedure may be accomplished by augmentation only or with augmentation and breast lift combined. Breast Lift with Reduction: Almost all women who need a breast reduction will also benefit from a breast lift. Procedure There are three variations of incisions in the breast used during this procedure as mentioned below: An initial incision around the areola followed by a concentric incision around the initial one An incision around the areola with another incision down the front of the breast beneath the areola to the fold of the breast (inframammary fold) An incision around the areola with another incision down the front of the breast beneath the areola to the fold, and horizontally along the fold of the breast Following the initial incision excess breast tissue is removed to reshape the breast. If the skin has become less elastic, excess skin is additionally removed and the nipple and areola are positioned higher, thus, tightening the surrounding skin. Result Results are immediately noticeable. During post-operative recovery, the swelling decreases and incision lines fade away. A breast lift does not alter the overall size of the breasts. However, for fuller looking breasts, augmentation using implants may be recommended.

Male Breast Reduction Surgery Male breast reduction, also called gynecomastia treatment, can help remove feminine-looking breasts for a more masculine physique. Most men are candidates for this body contouring plastic surgery procedure. Indication Men with enlarged male breasts (gynaecomastia) can undergo this procedure. If you are under 18, it is advisable to wait as gynaecomastia often can be a side effect of puberty and will resolve on its own. Ideal candidate for male breast reduction should be • Is in good general health • Is at or near ideal weight • Understands the risks and benefits of the procedure • Has realistic expectations Procedure Most male breast reduction is conducted using liposuction. Results With exercise and right diet you can get that desired physique.

Accessory Breast Removal Accessory breasts are usually glands or tissues that remain after the development of the breast. Although accessory breasts may be asymptomatic, they can cause discomfort during menstruation, anxiety, cosmetic problems, pain or restriction of arm movement. Accessory breasts can be satisfactorily treated with excision, liposuction or both. Breast reduction and removal of accessory breasts can be performed at the same time.

Face Lift The face and neck are the most important part of an individual's overall look, but unfortunately they are the first to show signs of aging. However, you can get a fresh and smooth look by tightening the underlying muscles, re-contouring the skin and by removing the excess fat from your face, neck and forehead. A face lift provides more dramatic results than non-surgical options, giving the face a rejuvenated and more youthful appearance. This procedure is ideal for common signs of aging such as the presence of deep creases around the eyes and mouth, sagging skin around the midface, and decreased muscle tone with the presence of jowls along the jawline. A forehead lift smoothens the skin, removing expression lines above the eyebrows and just above the nose. The eyebrows are often lifted to give the face a more alert, refreshed appearance. For sagging eyelids, a blepharoplasty procedure may be recommended.

Skin Care Invasive Candidates / Indications: Most people are good candidates for a face lift if they are in good health. An ideal face lift candidate: • Has sagging tissues that can be treated with a facelift • Is looking for high-quality, long-term results • Is in good general health • Is near their ideal weight • Does not have health conditions that may increase risks • Does not smoke • Is not taking medications or supplements that may increase risks In addition to your health, it is crucial that you have facial aging symptoms that a facelift can treat, such as: • Excess or sagging skin in the neck • Jowling • Marionette lines • Hollows under the eyes • Nasolabial folds

Skin Care Invasive Procedure In the traditional face lift, an incision is made in front of the ear beginning at the temple and continuing around the ear to the lower scalp or base of the hair line. Fat is removed or sculpted around the contours of the face and the muscles may be lifted. The skin is set over the elevated contours and excess skin is removed. In some circumstances an additional incision is made under the chin. However, as an alternative to the traditional facelift, in the limited incision method shorter incisions are made at the temples and around the ears. Incisions may also be made in the lower eyelid and upper lip. A Neck Lift addresses excess skin beneath the neck and hanging at the jowls An incision is made in front of the ear lobe, ending at the base of the hairline. Excess skin is removed to give the neck a firmer appearance. For Forehead lift, incisions are made along the hair line and upper eyelid. Result Within two to four weeks swelling and bruising will subside. Healing should be complete after one to two months and incision remarks will fade within a year.

Nose Reshaping (Rhinoplasty) Heredity often determines the shape and size of the nose; however, past injury may also negatively impact appearance and ease of breathing. Candidate / Indication A rhinoplasty corrects and perfects many aspects of the nasal structure and is an ideal procedure if you desire to: • Change the size of the nose in proportion to the face • Change either the size of the bridge, or the size and position of the nostrils • Remove bumps or depressions in the profile • Correct an enlarged, drooping, hooked or upturned nasal tip • Correct asymmetry in the nostrils • Correct any breathing obstructions, such as a deviated septum Rhinoplasty can be performed starting at age 15-16, when the nose is fully developed. A healthy person at any age can undergo this procedure.

Skin Care Invasive Procedure To reshape the nose, our doctor will make an incision at the base of the nose along the narrow tissue separating the nostrils, or inside the nose. The soft tissue covering the nose is raised away from the cartilage and bone in order to alter the structure of the nose. Excess cartilage may be removed or if cartilage is needed to shape the nose it may be grafted from another area of the body. To alter the size of the nostrils, an incision is made along the natural crease of the nostril. Some patients may be candidates for temporary nasal reshaping by way of a procedure called a nonsurgical nose job. During a non-surgical nose job, Radiesse or other injectable fillers are used to superficially even out nasal contours. Result Splints or tubes inserted into the nose support it during healing for the first week. Swelling begins to lessen after a few weeks and the new shape of the nose is evident after six to eight weeks. Healing continues over the next six months and is complete by 12 months with occasional swelling during the first year.

Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) The eyes are the most expressive elements of the face. Drooping upper lids and puffy bags below your eyes can make you look older and more fatigued than you are. However, with blepharoplasty, aesthetic surgeon can help you look more like your alert, normal self by delicately removing fat, excess skin and muscle from eyelids. Candidate / Indication If you are affected by puffy bags below your eyes, drooping upper lids, or stretched eyelid skin, blepharoplasty is likely an option for you. Individuals considering the procedure should have realistic expectations from surgery and be in good general health. Any one or combination of the following conditions may indicate that you are a good candidate for eyelid surgery:

Skin Care Invasive • Excess skin obscuring the natural fold of the upper eyelids • Loose skin hanging down from the upper eyelids, perhaps impairing vision • A puffy appearance to the upper eyelids, making the eyes look tired • Excess skin and fine, crepey wrinkles of the lower eyelids • Bags and dark circles under the eyes, often with a depression along the bony border of the lower eyelids • Droopiness of the lower eyelids, showing white below the iris (coloured portion of the eye) Those with hypothyroidism, Graves' disease or other thyroid issues, high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular disease or glaucoma may need to consult their eye specialist before making any decisions. Procedure A blepharoplasty procedure can be done alone or in combination with other facial plastic surgery procedures like the facelift or brow lift. Eyelid surgery requires very small incisions near the areas where loose skin and fat have collected around the eyes. The incisions are made following the natural creases of the upper eyelid, and the area below the lashes of the lower eyelid. After the skin is separated from the underlying fatty tissue and muscle, the excess fat and skin are removed. The incisions are then closed with fine sutures. In select cases, a special technique called the transconjunctivital technique may be used. This is often suitable for patients who display a lesser amount of fat around the eyelids. In this approach, an incision is made in the lower lid, where no skin but only a small amount of fat is removed.

Skin Care Invasive Result Expect some bruising and swelling during first few days that usually subsides in about 10 days to 2 weeks. Your doctor will provide you with specific post-operative instructions. You may be advised to keep your head elevated for several days, and use cold compresses to reduce the swelling and bruising. You may also have to avoid wearing contact lenses for about two weeks as well as postpone your exercise schedule by about three weeks at least. You should be able to appreciate the results of your eyelid surgery after about two weeks.

Chin Augmentation Chin augmentation may improve the balance and symmetry of the face and create a fuller, more youthful appearance. The surgery can also compliment another procedure, such as a face lift or rhinoplasty, creating overall facial balance. Candidate / Indication With inadequate chin bone structure microgenia, your other facial features may look larger than normal. If you have microgenia and are mentally ready for surgery, you may be a good candidate for chin augmentation. When the chin is very small and an implant cannot help, then a different type of chin surgery called sliding genioplasty may be recommended. You might not be a candidate for chin augmentation if you have extreme microgenia, especially if your teeth are misaligned when your jaws are closed.

Skin Care Invasive Procedure To complete the augmentation using an alloplastic implant, your surgeon will make an incision inside the mouth along the lower lip. A pocket will then be created in front of the jaw bone between the bone and the skin. The implant is then inserted through the incision into the pocket. As an alternative, especially for more severe cases of microgenia, the tip of the chin bone can be moved forward. In this instance, the incision is made either inside the mouth or below the lower lip. Your surgeon will carefully select the portion of the bone to advance forward, then he will cut the chin bone while taking care to minimise trauma to the soft tissue. The bone piece is secured in its new position with titanium screws or wires, and sutures are placed to close the incision. Non-surgical chin augmentation may also be performed using injectable fillers, such as Radiesse, Juvederm or Restylane. Result Your treating specialist will provide you with specific instructions to be followed after chin surgery. You will feel some discomfort and soreness, which you can easily control with medication. You might have to stick to a liquid diet for a day or two. You can resume light activity the day of surgery. You may be asked to keep your head elevated during this time and practice good oral hygiene. Also, in this duration, you must refrain from touching your chin. You may be prescribed antibiotics and pain medications for the first week of recovery. You should be able to return to work and your usual activity within 7 to 10 days. You will probably have the outside bandage removed within a week of surgery.

Ear Reshaping (Otoplasty) Ideally ears are positioned close to the side of the head. Children with fly away ears often called 'Dumbo ears' easily begin to see the difference, between their ears and other childrens' ears, as young as three to four years old. More often than not, hurtful remarks made by peers begin to scar children psychologically - as young as six years old. Adults who have lived with prominent ears may also be sensitive about their appearance and display it through poor self-image. Promin Auris (outstanding ears) is an inherited condition that affects about 5% of children today. Candidate / Indication Any child or adult who has protruding ears may be a good candidate for ear correction surgery. It is best if the child has reached six years of age, because by this age, the ear has achieved 90% of its adult size. An adult of any age, who is in good health, and has the desire to correct protruding ears, is usually a good candidate.

Skin Care Invasive Procedure To reposition the ears, the surgeon will make an incision in the back of the ear to expose the cartilage. The cartilage is sculpted or folded as needed, and the final shape is secured with permanent stitches. In some cases, cartilage may be removed to give the ear a natural-looking fold. The ears will then appear closer to the head and more symmetrical with respect to the rest of the face. Otoplasty can be performed using local or general anaesthesia. In many cases, children receive a general anaesthetic to sleep through the two to three hour long procedure. Older children and adults commonly receive local anaesthesia in combination with a sedative and remain awake during the procedure. Result After surgery is complete, protruding ears are positioned closer to the head, which helps resolve the distracting appearance. During recovery from the surgery, you should limit activities in which the ears may be accidentally bent or moved. Bandages are placed around the head to hold the ears in their new position, and are switched to a light head dressing after a few days. Most children can return to school after one week, and adults may return to work within five days. Consult your plastic surgeon for details specific to your surgery. Results are immediately evident once the bandages are removed.

Dimple Creation Dimples are usually considered as an attractive feature and associated with beauty. Now, the technological advancements in cosmetology have made it possible for virtually anyone to have a dimply smile. Candidate / Indication Dimple creation surgery can be done on one cheek or both the cheeks. Along with your surgeon, you can decide which would be the most optimal place for the dimples on your face. Both men and women can go for this surgery.

Skin Care Invasive Procedure Dimple creation surgery is a daycare procedure performed at our hospital. Under local anaesthesia, a small depression is created in the cheek muscle. This is done from inside the mouth, thus causing no external scars. You will be awake and comfortable throughout the surgery. It takes about twenty minutes to perform a dimple surgery. Result Besides a little swelling and bruising, there are minimal complications associated with this surgery. A surgically created dimple is prominent for the initial few weeks but later behaves like a natural dimple, when it is visible only on smiling. Patient will be on antibiotics for only a couple of days after the surgery. However, he/she should be able to resume routine activities the following day. Dimple creation surgery is safe and effective, and is also potentially reversible.

Non Invasive Body Contouring Non-Invasive Lipolysis This novel technology which couples the benefits of radiofrequency and ultrasound brings about targeted fat loss along with skin tightening and stretch mark reduction. Successive sessions enable effective sculpting and toning of the body. Injection Lipolysis This is a minimally invasive lipolysis for stubborn areas of fat, which are resistant to diet and exercise regimen can be treated by using special fat burning mixtures that are injected into the mesoderm every week.

Hair Care - Invasive Hair Transplant Hair serves the most important cosmetic function in humans. Loss of hair causes significant emotional stress and loss of confidence. However, with the recent advances in medical technology, fortunately now there are permanent solutions for thinning hair and balding heads. One such hair restoring technique is Hair Transplantation. Candidate Hair transplantation is done in both male and female pattern baldness. In males, the hair loss involves the entire frontal area. While in females, baldness begins as increased hair loss at the partition site or sometimes as diffuse hair loss in the frontal area.

Hair Care Invasive Procedure Types of Transplants A variety of hair transplant techniques exist, and two of the more popular techniques today are what are known as Micro-Minigrafting and Follicular Unit Transplants (FUT). Both of these processes can be done by dissecting a small strip of hair follicles from the donor site. Follicular Unit Transplants can also be harvested in a process called Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), wherein a less than one millimeter diameter punch is used to remove individual follicular units. The latest technique in this series has the powered machine with very fine blunt punches which can extract the follicular units at much faster rate and negligible trauma to hair follicles. Determining which hair transplant technique is right for you is a matter of personal choice based on factors such as procedure time, cost, time that you are willing to wait for results, and number of procedures required. The FUE technique produces multiple, extremely small scars that are difficult to identify, and the strip procedure produces a single scar, which can be concealed underneath existing hair.

Hair Care Invasive Result The scalp contains a large number of vessels, and immediately after the transplantation, the surrounding tissue begins nourishing the transplanted follicles. You should be able to return to work and most normal activities the day following your procedure, but should refrain from strenuous exercise and heavy lifting until any non-absorbable sutures in the donor site are removed in 7 to 12 days. This period of healing is faster in FUE technique as there are no sutures used. As healing begins, some crusts may develop at the base of the grafts. After several days these can be gently removed while shampooing. Most transplanted hairs will be shed between 2 to 4 weeks after surgery, but the follicles remain, and hair that has been transplanted may require as long as 3 to 5 months to begin growing. Once hair growth begins, there will be a progressive cosmetic improvement, which will continue for up to 12 to 15 months after surgery. Follow-up procedures are typically performed after around eight months, when all the implanted grafts are growing. Also, as some of the hairs surrounding the transplant may continue to be lost, a future hair transplant may be recommended to maintain even coverage. Benefit All hospitals providing these services have the latest equipment for follicular unit harvest known as S.A.F.E. SCRIBE system, which uses a powered machine with very fine blunt punches to extract the hair follicles successfully and at a much faster rate. This new system is minimally invasive and virtually pain free. Other advantages associated with this technology include no visible scarring , reduced healing time and minimal damage to the follicle.

Hair Care – Non Invasive Hair Loss Treatments Along with a good medical line of treatment, diet and lifestyle modifications, we offer the following hair growth procedures. Mesotherapy It is a procedure in which a cocktail of vitamins are injected in the middle layer of skin through micro pricks using dermaroller or papular meso technique. Hair Root Therapy with Mesoporation Stem cells and growth factors are infused at the hair root using a painless needle free device which enables deeper penetration of the products akin to a relaxing head massage therapy. Platelet Rich Plasma Treatment This is a hair follicle regeneration therapy using autologous platelets.

Dentistry Cosmetic Dentistry using lasers (Erbium and Diode) is suggested for… Smile Designing: This involves contouring or shaping a patient’s gums to improve the appearance of his/her smile by safely removing excess gum tissue that may give him/her a ‘gummy’ smile, or make the front teeth appear irregular in size or shape. Depigmentation: Lightening of dark gums is also possible with this technology. Laser Bleaching: It is also known as tooth whitening and can be done to brighten dull and dark teeth. Composite or Ceramic Laminates: These veneers or crowns can be fabricated to mask unsightly stained teeth, chipped or crooked teeth, or to close gaps between the front teeth. Tooth Jewelry: This is a non-invasive, quick and reversible procedure where a coloured Zirconium stone is bonded onto the tooth, which can add dazzle and sparkle to one’s smile.

Obesity (Bariatric) Surgery) Obesity is a health hazard. Body Mass Index (BMI) or 37.5kg/m2 or more indicates obesity—a condition that is risk factor to various life threatening diseases like: • Diabetes • High Blood Pressure (hypertension) • Heart Disease • Obstructive Sleep Apnoea • Stroke • Heartburn or Acid Reflux Disease (GERD) • Cancer (in women: endometrial, gallbladder, cervical and uterine; in men: colorectal and prostate) • Studies show that the risk of death from these conditions drops significantly after weight loss.

Obesity (Bariatric) Surgery) In addition, obesity contributes to numerous other medical conditions, including: • Osteoarthritis and Gout • Gallbladder Disease and Gallstones • High-Risk Pregnancy • Hypoventilation (Breathing Disorders) • Infertility • Psychological Disorders/Social Impairments • Incontinence • Polycystic Ovary Syndrome • Low Back Pain • Degenerative Disc Disease Six months after surgery for obesity, patients often find they no longer need medications for many of these conditions. Also, many women struggling with infertility before surgery find that conception is possible after weight loss.

Obesity (Bariatric) Surgery) Indications Bariatric surgery is a major operation and should be considered only after non surgical weight-loss methods have failed. If you’re considering weight-loss surgery, you must make a serious, lifelong commitment to lifestyle changes. Procedure The procedure is performed laparoscopically or robotically with 5-6 small skin incisions ranging from 5 mm-12 mm with the patient being under general anaesthesia. The procedure usually takes anywhere between 3-5 hours on an average and the patient is hospitalised on average for 3 days and discharged on day 4 if the surgery is uneventful. Multidisciplinary team of bariatric experts will see you through the entire process. They will make certain that you are prepared for surgery, both physically and psychologically, and will provide the most advanced and current procedures that are right for you. After surgery, you would be assisted in committing to the lifestyle changes that will assure optimal success.

Obesity (Bariatric) Surgery) Benefits Many obesity related health conditions may be improved or resolved completely following a gastric bypass surgery. These include Type II Diabetes Mellitus, High Blood Pressure/Heart Disease, Osteoarthritis of weight bearing joints, Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Infertility in women, Stress Urinary Incontinence, etc. The lifestyle of these morbidly obese patients improves significantly, especially in social/economic opportunities and physical functioning and appearance.

FAQs Does dandruff worsen acne? No, dandruff has no co-relation with acne. Dandruff is caused by Malassezia species – a lipophilic fungus, while one of the precipitating factors of acne is a bacteria Propionebacterium acnes. Thus, the treatment for the two also differs. Does oiling prevent hair fall? Oiling at the most would help in grooming hair, but has no proven efficacy in preventing or reducing hair fall. Hair 'fall' varies from hair 'loss' and in either case it is important to identify the cause and treat appropriately. Are face scrub, body scrub and loofah essential to remove dead skin? No, the dead skin which needs to be exfoliated falls by itself when skin beneath is ready. Scrubs of any sort if used regularly and too vigorously they often lead to various skin problems like frictional hypermelanosis, cutaneous macular amyloidosis, which over the years amount to skin darkening. Is fasting and crash dieting good for weight loss? Going long hours without food is viewed by our body as signals of starvation. Therefore, effective and satisfactory weight loss can be achieved by eating healthy, instead of dieting. What does Botox do? It is a protein used to relax muscles, hence reduces wrinkles and fine lines caused due to over activity of the facial muscles. It helps to correct frown lines, crow's feet, bunny lines, drooping angle of mouth, and can be used for brow lift and jaw shaping besides various other indications. Botox is very safe in the hands of well-trained experts.
