Climbing Sky Tower – One of the Top Things to Do in Auckland: Climbing Sky Tower – One of the Top Things to Do in Auckland © Hoodaki 2014 About The City: About The City One of the top things to do in Auckland is to climb Sky Tower, the tallest free-standing structure in the Southern Hemisphere. It is basically an observation and telecommunications tower that is also being used as a tourist attraction drawing on an average of 1,450 visitors a day. The tower, with its height of 328 meters and beautiful shape, has emerged as an iconic landmark, not only in Auckland but also in New Zealand. © Hoodaki 2014 Flights to Auckland: Flights to Auckland Tourists taking flights to Auckland must not forget to experience the various attractions of this majestic tower. There are many ways to experience Sky Tower, but the most popular is obviously to climb to the top and enjoy sweeping views of the city. © Hoodaki 2014 Sky Tower: Sky Tower • Sky Tower took two years and nine months to get completed. • It has to offer three observation decks, each circular in shape and offering 360-degree view of the city – Sky Deck, Main Observation level and Sky Lounge. • Sky Deck is the topmost, sitting just below the main antenna at 220 meter, giving views of up to 82 km in the distance. © Hoodaki 2014 PowerPoint Presentation: • The main observation level sits at a height of 186 meter and gives a view straight to the ground through its thick glass flooring. • Sky Tower features three glass-fronted elevators, which can take up to 225 people to the observation levels every 15 minutes. The ride takes only 40 seconds. • If you choose to climb through a flight of 1,267 steps, then it would take nearly 30 minutes to reach Sky Deck. Climbing will indeed be one among the best thing to do in Auckland’s Sky Tower. © Hoodaki 2014 PowerPoint Presentation: • You can see nearly 82 k.m . in all directions provided the weather is clear. This means you can see up to Leigh Peninsula in the north, Great Barrier Island in the east, Waitakere Ranges in the west, and the Bombay Hills in the south. • Upper portion of the tower features 2 restaurants & a café. • Sky Tower is also home to the New Zealand’s only revolving restaurant, which is located at a height of 190 meters and completes a full round every hour. © Hoodaki 2014 Fun Things To Do: Fun Things To Do Besides climbing the tower and enjoying magnificent views of the city, you can also indulge in many adventure activities here. © Hoodaki 2014 • SkyJump: • SkyJump It refers to a 192-meter jump from the observation deck, allowing you to attain a maximum speed of 85 km/hour during the flight. The jump is controlled by the cables; thus it is fully secure and offers a safe adventure experience to the tourists taking flights to Auckland. It is open every day from 10am till 6pm. © Hoodaki 2014 • SkyWalk: • SkyWalk If you do not have the courage to try SkyJump , then go for a scaled-down adventure experience with SkyWalk , which refers to a walk around the 1.2 meter wide platform jutted out 192 meters up the ground. It is perfectly safe to walk the edge of Sky Tower’s pergola, making it one of the most popular things to do in Auckland’s Sky Tower. © Hoodaki 2014 • Dining: • Dining You have plenty of choices for dining at Sky Tower. You can enjoy appetizing food at Peter Gordan’s Sugar Club or relax with a coffee at Sky Lounge. The experience of the city’s only revolving restaurant – Orbit – would be amazing! Dining is definitely one of the most interesting things to do in Auckland’s Sky Tower. © Hoodaki 2014 Contact To Hoodaki: Contact To Hoodaki 3rd Floor, 3 Princes Street, London W1B 2LD Phone: +44 20 7318 8140 Website: http://www.hoodaki.com/ Blog: http://www.hoodaki.com/blog/ Like us on: Facebook Follow us on: Twitter Follow us on: Google+ Follow us on: LinkedIn © Hoodaki 2014
