1. SILS Disruption is an integral part of a new way of engaging with staff and students for the Scholarly Information and Learning Services (SILS) team at the University of Southern Queensland. Client support is collaborative: the matrix model in action at USQ The SILS restructure has brought together multiple academic support services, disrupting previously siloed services and teams, and identifying new, collaborative ways of working to provide support to our clients.

2. Discipline-based teams drawing professionals from Library Services, the Office for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching (OALT) and the Digital Life Lab (DLL) collaborate to engage with clients and find solutions. These teams identify the staff best positioned to respond to enquiries on a case by case basis. This innovative way of working has strengthened relationships between professional and academic staff and increased awareness and appreciation for the ways in which SILS staff can assist in the development and delivery of quality educational experiences for USQ students.
