Current numbers place the Latino population at 13% of the United State Population. Hispanic people are the largest non-white portion of our population. Contributions to Business:  Contributions to Business Hispanic representatives are leading a record number of small businesses -- 1.2 million -- with annual revenues of more than $200 billion. The fastest- growing small business sector is Latina-owned firms. Latino Political Strength:  Latino Political Strength Commensurate with their growing numbers Latinos are taking advantage of their political opportunities. Today, there are 30 Latino members of the United States Congress, many of them Mexican-Americans. Likewise, political representation is growing at all levels of government. President Bush has also appointed the first Latino Attorney General.
