Chainsaw Training is important A chainsaw can be a very powerful tool when it is used correctly, and it can be used for many purposes. Over 30,000 people in the United Sates have been injured while using a chainsaw. If your workers use a chainsaw frequently then you should provide the correct training for them, this is because the amount of chainsaw-related accidents has increased in the past years due to lack of skills while using a chainsaw. You can reduce compensation insurance costs for your workers as well as minimizing the chances of injuries, if you have the correct chainsaw training. Having to recruit a new worker can be a waste of time when your previous worker has been injured due to chainsaw-related accidents. By providing correct training, you can be sure that your business can run smoothly without interruption from accident and your workers are safe in performing their job. Chainsaw training is widely available across the country and it is easy to find registered training providers and instructors on the internet. Because chainsaw training can be dangerous, the training is held in small groups, ensuring that each participant can receive more attention from the instructor. These training courses are built up from small sections which include cross-cutting, chainsaw maintenance, how to use chainsaw, felling and processing trees over 380mm, felling small trees, handling multiple windblown trees, handling individual windblown trees, felling utility poles and mechanized pole-pruner. If your workers have had previous experience it is still highly recommended to provide a full training for them. During the training, your workers will be able to recognise that using a poorly maintained saw can be very dangerous, but they will also be able to have the knowledge of certain techniques which they can use to sharpen the cutters safely and correctly. In felling trees training section, they will learn several types of cutters and many different techniques to cut small to large trees. The instructor will also teach them various methods to complete job effectively and safely such as how to stack and move logs correctly, blind side that needs to be avoided when felling trees, etc. In terms of training cost, there are many factors that determine the training cost. You will be able to find some training providers that offer cheap chainsaw training; however they usually require your workers to provide their own equipment. However, you may have to spend more money if you require a training provider to provide all necessary equipments including the chainsaw. Most training providers that focuses on felling small trees and offer chainsaw training usually charge around $500. In case your company is located in a remote area, you may need to consider mobile chainsaw training for your workers. When taking mobile training, the instructor will come to your company and give training to your workers. It should not be that difficult to find a training provider who offer mobile training even though there are only a few training providers who do this. In conclusion, even though operating a chainsaw can look easy, it is actually very dangerous to operate this cutting tool without the correct training. Full chainsaw training can be a bit expensive, however it is mandatory to provide comprehensive chainsaw training for your workers.
