Description

It’s important to be introduced to open intelligence—to the fundamental clarity and intelligence that exist within everyone. This is the fundamental intelligence of nature itself, including human nature. What is that fundamental intelligence? It is alert, clear and cognizant; it’s our power to know everything. Whatever appears within open intelligence—all the descriptions of our life or our data sets—is inseparable from it. By relying on open intelligence rather than data, we have complete perceptual openness in all experience.
Most of us learn to focus on data and rearrange them in order to have a good life. We never learn about the clarity of open intelligence, which is the balanced view in which all data appear. We don’t learn that there is something about us that is profound and which has mastery over all the data. We have been trained to think that by rearranging the data we’ll be good people; however, most of us never achieve that to our satisfaction, and we always feel that we’ve fallen short.

1. Open Intelligence as the Basis! ! CHAPTER TWO! !! OPEN INTELLIGENCE AND DATA! ! ! ! No matter what our data are, once we are introduced to open intelligence, we can see that all the data appear within that view. This means that as we go along in everyday life we’re drawing on a completely different type of intelligence than we had while we were totally focused on rearranging data. Our fundamental intelligence is alert, clear and cognizant, and it’s easy to rely on the intelligence of a balanced view rather than on all the data. ! First we are introduced to open intelligence, then we increasingly see that the data appear within open intelligence and are inseparable from open intelligence—like the sky and the color blue are inseparable. At first it might seem like the data are something other than open intelligence, but by relying on open intelligence, we see that it pervades all data. When a thought occurs, we can see that it appears in open intelligence, it endures in open intelligence, it disappears in open intelligence and its entire process is open intelligence. ! For most of us the primary motivation is to arrange circumstances so that we can feel good. We want to provide for our food, clothing and shelter, and maybe we want to provide that for some other people as well, but it can be an all-consuming ordeal if we get involved with all the data surrounding those needs.! No matter what we’re involved in, the basis of human life is the same for everyone and everything: open intelligence. By relying on open intelligence, it’s easy to live; by relying on data, it isn’t easy to live. It is a totally simple equation. ! !!!! RELYING ON OPEN INTELLIGENCE! !

2. The research carried out in the field of quantum physics has shown that all phenomena are inseparable. This is the way nature is—inseparable—and it is impossible to pluck anything out of nature. Where would it go? The nature of the many worlds and what is beyond the many worlds is within open intelligence. Open intelligence contains all, and the data that appear are non-separate from open intelligence. ! It’s impossible to take any datum out of open intelligence. It’s impossible to be outside open intelligence; open intelligence simply is. We rely on open intelligence moment-to-moment for short moments, repeated many times until open intelligence becomes obvious. This is very simple: relying on open intelligence—with data appearing, enduring and resolving in open intelligence—for short moments, many times until the short moments become continuous. ! In a sense we’ve used short moments for many other things we do automatically, like brushing our teeth or tying our shoes. It may have been awkward when we were first learning about moving the toothbrush around in our mouths or trying to get the laces tied on our shoes. It seemed it would take us forever to learn the skills, but now because of our familiarity with those things, we do them completely without thinking. It is through the same sort of process that we grow familiar with open intelligence. Just as we learned our name by continually acknowledging that name, we learn about open intelligence by acknowledging open intelligence. !
