Cancer in dogs

Cancer in dogs

   As it is the case with human beings, cancer is the major cause of death for older dogs too. Around 50 percent canine deaths every year are largely due to this mysterious killer disease. If treated early enough, it can be treated successfully, if the condition is diagnosed early.

  The medical science that studies cancer in animals is called veterinary oncology and veterinarians that specialize in cancer diagnosis and treatment are called veterinary oncologists. Like human beings, there are various types of cancer prevailing among dogs too, with several clinical signs noted.

  Being savvy with Colorado Veterinary Internal Medicine about potential signs of the dreaded disease in pets can help in the early detection and the ensuing care.
