Key aspects

Immersive experience

Collapse of distance

Two or more way communication

Promises

Potentially unlimited screensize

Potentially unlimited storage

Potentially unlimited bandwidth

Potentially unlimited participants

So we can

Reach and engage with a worldwide audience

In previously undreamt of quality

Evoke and share very intense emotional responses

At increasingly lower cost

KINDS OF USE WE ENVISION “ Shoot & Cut” - filmmaking at ultra-high standards Capture and share live events - cultural, sports, entertainment Real-time collaboration - art, education, business Gaming in increasingly immersive environments Share (cultural) content across institutions (eg. Film Archives & Musea) (3D) Animation & visualization 3D Stereo

WHAT DO WE NEED? Both Standards to adhere to - limitations stimulate creativity Freedom to break these standards at will Arbitrary pixels / screens dimensions / screen shapes Arbitrary number of channels of audio Arbitrary length of transmission (one hour - three months) Arbitrary numbers of participants And Well equipped production and viewing rooms Easy set-up of complex events Fault-tolerant hard- & software Community of committed scientists, technicians and artists to work with More research (emotions, perception, audio & video) Time for meaningful discussion
