You must have a Fresno State username and password Sign-up for a Free Fresno State email at If you forget your password call the Help Desk at 278-7000 Forwarding Your Email:  Forwarding Your Email To forward your email: -> Go to and login -> Click on Options -> Settings -> In the Mail Forwarding section enter the complete email address where you wish to have your emails forwarded -> Click on Save Changes Each time you get an email, a copy will be sent to the email address you entered above. Please Note: You must login to periodically and clean up your inbox to avoid exceeding your quota. If your Fresno State account is full, you will not be able to receive or forward email. Opening Documents:  Opening Documents When you select a document to open, your browser may give you the option of opening the document or saving to your computer You can also right-click on the document link to save the file or print it out. Plug-ins:  Plug-ins Instructors have opportunity to upload and post various types of files including Word documents, HTML pages, Adobe .PDF pages, PowerPoint presentations, graphics, videos, and audio files. In order to view some of these files, you need to have the necessary plug-ins installed on your computer. Check with your instructor if plug-ins are needed. Communication Tools:  Communication Tools Asynchronous Announcements Discussion Boards E-mail Synchronous (Virtual Chats) Virtual Classroom – Full chat with whiteboard Lightweight chat – text only (Office Hours) Communication Tools:  Communication Tools You can quickly email your instructor or find their office hours through the Faculty Information area. Discussion Board:  Discussion Board Click on the Forum topic to access threads Search criteria includes all Forums or current Discussion Board Discussion Board:  Discussion Board Collect all threads in an easy to read and print format Click on the subject of the thread to read and reply Discussion Board:  Discussion Board If you want to return to a message later, you may Flag it When enabled students can rate the postings of their peers on a scale of one to five stars Subscribe allows users to be notified via email whenever there is a new posting Discussion Board:  Discussion Board Show Original Post when replying Users may Save Posts as Drafts allowing them to work on them over more than one Blackboard session When posts are ready users must click Submit Discussion Board:  Discussion Board Instructors may choose to Moderate Discussion Forums Students will see Moderate Queue next to each post within the thread that has been returned Turning in an Assignment:  Turning in an Assignment Your instructor may add an assignment to your class. Click on ‘View/Complete’ Read the document Add comments Upload any necessary documents Submit The Assignment can be saved and completed later. Once you submit the assignment, it is automatically recorded in the Gradebook where your instructor can view your submission, grade it, and give you feedback. Turning in an Assignment:  Turning in an Assignment Turnitin and Blackboard:  Turnitin and Blackboard Instructors can create assignments in Blackboard that will run your papers through Turnitin. To turn in a Turnitin assignment: Find the ‘View/Complete’ link your instructor has created. Name and upload the file. Submit. Turnitin and Blackboard:  Turnitin and Blackboard To view your Originality Report: Click the same ‘View/Complete’ link where you submitted the assignment. Click the ‘OK’ button. This will take you to your originality report. You can also select the ‘Tools’ button and click ‘Login to Turnitin’. This will take you to your area In Turnitin for this course. You can check your Originality report here.
