Provision of interactive whiteboards has improved significantly over the past few years. A quarter of primary schools indicated being well-equipped with IWBs in 2005. By 2008 this has increased to 72%. 17% of primary schools indicate limited access to interactive whiteboards – down form 25% last year, 33% year before that. In 2008 there are estimated to be 184,000 interactive whiteboards in primary schools – an average of 8.6 units per school. 40 per cent of primary ICT co-ordinators in 2008 feel that the majority of teachers are very confident using interactive whiteboards.
