LCSW: • Expertise / Involvement of LCSW • Sector trade association and network to support & promote environmental technologies and services. • Promote SW as a centre of excellence for sustainability and renewable energy production. • Network for businesses, academia, investors, local authorities, regional and national agencies to facilitate effective knowledge exchange & business collaborations. • Promote SW for inward investment and outward trade. • Business-led and supported by Local Authorities & Universities. • To look at waste streams, industrial and commercial symbiosis, the clustering of organisations and to cut across sectors. • Help support and actively drive the economic growth agenda for the region

Avonmouth & Severnside Region

The plan: • • • • • • • • • Agree a circular economy campaign Data and Information gathering- capability study Set up small and dynamic leadership group Prepare the correct marketing materials to get the opportunity publicised Attend International and National events to look at technology advancements, current thinking and source contacts Develop bespoke Chinese work stream Identify key waste partners that will enable us to match technologies to waste 2015- EGC, Will set up an International waste conference and exhibition with site tours Have at this Forum at least 3 times per year

Avonmouth and Severnside Existing: • • • • • • • • • Prime location with huge potential for large-scale industrial warehouses, distribution, energy and waste processing. An extensive and transferable highly skilled talent pool- diversification Strategic location, with excellent road, rail and shipping networks Huge amounts of land available for development with consented planning permission in place Port City with access to 45 million people (over 70% of the UK population) within 300km (4 hour HGV drive time) Co-location with existing companies Over £2.5BN of current and proposed investment UK’s largest environmental employment share Home to UK’s National Composite Centre and Bristol Robotics Labs

Outcomes: • • • • • • • • • • Development- uptake and build out of 100’s of acres of land Jobs- Thousands created over the next 5-10 years Investment levels- securing £100M’s of capital investment Developing one key flag-ship exemplar project Aligning re-processed waste to Manufacturing supply chain, Co-location of re-processors and manufacturing Construction- development stage would generate significant short/medium term employment All activities will be linked into new energy infrastructure plans for the region. Internationally recognised World Class centre of excellence A clearly defined list of target companies Clearly defined list of target waste materials
