Slide 1: MINOR PROJECT PRESENTATION AUTOMATED ROOM LIGHT CONTROLLER ON By: AMIT KUMAR SINGH RAJEEV RANJAN SANJAY SINGH [EN FINAL YEAR] Under the Guidance of: Mr. ASHISH THOMBRE Slide 2: INTRODUCTION We all know that the modern industries are focusing in automation of their processes where all the works is being done by automated machines and the role of man power is decreasing day-by-day. This project is an extension of the industrial automation to domestic side for better utilization of energy. Here we are planning and working on automation of lighting system of rooms. Through this project we will be able to control the lights as well as its illumination. In short we will be able to control the lights qualitatively as well as quantitatively. Slide 3: COMPONENTS The main components used are as follows: Microcontroller AT89C51. Timer IC555. FND (7 segment display) Infrared sensors LED. Relay. Transistors as a switch. Slide 4: DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT Here we are taking into account Human Presence. Daylight level. Amount of illuminance. Region of presence in a large room. No. of persons in the room. Slide 5: In this project we are working to automatically turn ON & OFF lights as a person enters or leaves the room or a part of the room or the region in which we want to control the lights. Not only this we will also control the lights of a big hall by turning on the lights of that part only in which someone will be present keeping the remaining lights off. Through this we will also manage the quantity of light required and accordingly turn ON the lights. Eg- Working on PC and reading a book does not require same amount of light. Slide 6: IT IS BASED ON EMBEDDED PROCESSOR. INTERFACES ALLOW USERS THE ABILITY TO TOGGLE POWER TO LIGHTS AND FANS, DIM LIGHTS, AND PROGRAM LIGHTING AND AC LEVELS. THIS SYSTEMS PROVIDE THE ABILITY TO AUTOMATICALLY POWER A DEVICE BASED ON PROGRAMMING EVENTS SUCH AS: CHRONOLOGICAL TIME (TIME OF DAY) ASTRONOMICAL TIME (SUNRISE/SUNSET) ROOM OCCUPANCY EVENTS ALARM CONDITIONS PROGRAM LOGIC (ANY COMBINATION OF EVENTS) Slide 7: BLOCK DIAGRAM Slide 8: BLOCK DIAGRAM DESCRIPTION Sensor :- Sense the presence of person. Counter:- counts the no. of persons. Control System:- Continuously compares status of all counters & locates the person. Microcontroller:- Controls operation of devices. User Interface:- Person can give desired input to the microcontroller for operation. Real Time Clock:- Used as a reference for the timer. Slide 9: Gate Circuit:- Controls hardware & isolates main device circuit from AC mains. Illumination Sensor:- It checks for the available light & tells the microcontroller how much light is required. Dimmer:- Speed control of AC , coolers & fans. Display:- Shows the no. of persons in the building. Slide 10: CIRCUIT DIAGRAM Slide 11: APPLICATION Talking about the scope the project we can only say that it is unlimited. The device will find its use every where in coming days of energy crisis. We can use it to control lights of our houses and offices. It can also be use to control the lights in conference halls, libraries, schools, colleges, industries, hospitals, theatres, etc. It can also be used at railway stations, bus stands, airports, etc as we all know lights are turned ON through out the day. This device can also be used to control the lights in a train compartment. It can also be used to control lights on highways and city roads. In short we can find its use at every single place where lights are used. This project can also be extended to control a no. of other devices also like fans, Air conditioners, etc. Slide 12: An example of a conference room having three logical sections as shown below . 1-1’ is entrance. The dotted line indicates the presence of RF rays joining sensors. Slide 13: A VIEW OF AUTOMATED CLASSROOM Slide 14: RESULT REDUCE LIGHTING ENERGY CONSUMPTION CASE 1 -> present system without automation CASE 2 ->old buildings with automation CASE 3 ->new construct with automation Slide 15: THANK YOU
