Temporary Relief From Sorrow And Pain
Running From Problems? Are you running from your problems? Sometimes people run from their problems by throwing themselves into their work, they work long hours to avoid a problem at home. Others crawl in a bottle of alcohol. Some take drugs. Some have illicit love affairs. These things make us feel better for a short time but aren’t long term fixes.
Running Sooner or later we can’t hide anymore. The work runs out. The alcohol and drugs wear off. The lover leaves. All we are left with is regret. Running from problems doesn’t solve problems. What if instead of running from your problems you ran to God WITH YOUR PROBLEMS? Go to God with your problems He is waiting to help you solve them. Remember the story of the prodigal son? When he realized that he could no longer deal with his problems
Listening he returned home with his problems and he was greeted by God and God solved the young man’s problems. Your rest, your salvation rests in God not with the temporary relief or distractions this world offers. Don’t run from your problems. Run to God, with your problems. Pray, pray, and pray some more. God will listen, He will give you the grace you need to deal with your problems.
