Custom Designs We often look to history to provide inspiration for our frame designs. This frame made for a Prendergast oil on panel came from a frame design Charles Prendergast made in 1920. Our experience extends from the Mannerists to the Modernists. We work directly with Contemporary Artists in designing frames and finishes for individual works or full exhibits.

Restorations Restoration of Gilded objects: picture frames, carved objects, sculptures, interior architectural elements, or furnishings . We use traditional gilding techniques and materials to bring the luster back to collections.

We gild on glass for such applications as kitchen backsplashes. We make one-of-a-kind medicine cabinet faces to complete your design ideas. We work with contemporary furniture designers such as Maine’s Gregg Lipton (above, left) or Sherwood Hamill for Angela Adams (above, right)

Historical Designs We continue to research Historical frame makers And their techniques. Our independent scholarship provides our clients with the best design service for their projects.

19th & 20 th c. Fine Art Our passion for history and the wealth of fine art produced in the State of Maine over the past Four Hundred years continues to provide us with knowledge to build on.
