LEGAL EDUCATION Legal education is the education of individuals who intend to become legal professionals or those who simply intend to use their law degree to some end, either related to law (such as politics or academic) or business.
FACTORS THAT HAVE ACCELERATED NEED FOR REFORMS IN LEGAL EDUCATION • • • • • • Social & economic transformation. Economic liberalisation. Emergence of India as a dominant economic power. Increasing foreign direct investment. WTO. (To allow equal treatment to law persons from other jurisdictions). Possibility of entry of foreign law firms.
Setting up of National Law Schools (started in 1986) was a sequel to disillusionment with traditional mode of law teaching.
