This was a technology keynote given to student affairs professionals by Kevin Prentiss of Swift Kick and Red Rover.

Theme of the speech was a "do more with less" approach. Getting your students connected and successful includes encouraging public blogging by your best role models.

This was part two of a two part speech.

Many things are changing, and it’s their world.

But there’s good news:

Their Current Approach:

Comfort: Find People Like You { First year students try to connect with other new students via Facebook groups, but group “wall” posts are full of questions and few answers.

Connection: Join the College Community Activities { Act bs ivit Clu ies ent udtivities StAc Activities Spo rts www.yourschool.edu Activitie s rts Spo Students often can't make sense of their institution’s many websites, and information is difficult to keep up to date.

Contribution: Give to the Community ? There is no central place to share with the college community, so the best work is lost online or buried in private class forums.
