Question 3 Introduced into India by Babur and later formalized by Akbar, Mughal Ganjifa is a card game played with a deck of 96 cards comprising of 8 suits of 12 cards each. As the game became popular beyond the Mughal courts, the designs on the cards were made compatible with Hindu tradition. A second form of the game emerged with 10 suits of 12 cards each. Answer 3 Vishnu Ganjifa cards are circular and traditionally hand- made by local artisans. The suits are composed of twelve subjects on coloured backgrounds, with pip cards running from 1 to 10, and two court cards, one of a minister or counselor, the other of a king. The precise style and arrangement of the decoration on any set is dependent on its artist. The designs of the cards of Dashavatara Ganjifa use motifs from the ten Avatars of Vishnu.

Answer 4 Digboi Digboi is a town in the north-eastern part of the state of Assam. Crude oil was discovered here in late 19th century. ‘Dig boy, dig’, shouted the Canadian engineer, at his men as they watched elephants emerging out of the dense forest with oil stains on their feet.

Answer 5 Chandni Chowk Chandni Chowk originally meaning moonlit square or market, is one of the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi, now in central north Delhi, India. Built in 17th century by the great Mughal emperor of India Shah Jahan and designed by his daughter Jahan Ara, the market was once divided by canals (now closed) to reflect moonlight, and it remains one of India's largest wholesale markets.
