Key Features for your Event Mobile App
Which One? An explosion of Mobile Apps for Events and Conferences in the last few years. The demand from the Event planners, from the Attendees and from the Exhibitors is there. But what to look for when selecting a Mobile App for your Event? A ten minute overview of key features.
Native or Web? Can you ensure solid wifi hotspots? If not, go with a native app solution, that allows people to “download” the event app before the event, and sync data when a hotspot is available. Native apps work best when wifi is unreliable.
What form factors? Participants have a multitude of devices to access the Event materials, and expect a consistent experience for all devices: iPad, iPhone, Android phones and Android tablets, and Kindle fire devices. The often forgotten device is the PC, or the Mac…many participants still use these devices during events, especially in Corporate events. WRITE ONCE, PUBLISH ON ALL DEVICES.
Custom Categories? Check the capability to add your own categories – Sponsors, Exhibitors or other Custom Sections. Can you do it, or are you being dependent on the app vendor to do that for you? Do you need to pay extra? CONTENT CATEGORIES LIKE SPONSORS OR EXHIBITORS
