Joining Our Hearts To the Spirit of God and Releasing Ourselves from Religion:  Joining Our Hearts To the Spirit of God and Releasing Ourselves from Religion Slide3:  In the past, we have had some revelation about the fallen soul: The mind The emotions The will In short: our human personality with all of its limitations, sins, bondages, strongholds, and issues. Slide4:  Going deeper than the soul: Understanding the heart and how it can control the soul. (not the ‘heart’ or physical organ that pumps blood; but the ‘spiritual’ heart of man) Slide5:  What does the Scripture teach us about the heart? Basically, it holds a central place in regard to Holy Spirit Life and function as well as ‘soul’ life and function Slide6:  Ps 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear. NKJV Prov 4:23 23 Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. (from New International Version) Slide7:  Prov 14:30 30 A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. (from New International Version) Prov 15:13 13 A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, But by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. NKJV Slide8:  Prov 23:7 7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. NKJV Jer 17:10 10 "I the LORD search the heart (from New International Version) Slide9:  Luke 6:45 45 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. (from New International Version) Slide10:  Luke 8:15 the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop. (from New International Version) Slide11:  Acts 5:3 3 Then Peter said, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart (from New International Version) Acts 8:21-23 21 You have no part or share in this ministry, because your heart is not right before God. 22 Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. 23 For I see that you are full of bitterness and captive to sin." (from New International Version) Slide12:  Acts 13:22 After removing Saul, God made David their king. He (God) testified concerning him: 'I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.' (from New International Version) Slide13:  Matt 13:15 15 For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.' (from New International Version) Slide14:  Matt 15:18-20 18 But the things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and these make a man 'unclean.' 19 For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander. 20 These are what make a man 'unclean'; but eating with unwashed hands does not make him 'unclean.'" (from New International Version) Slide15:  Mark 11:22-23 22 "Have faith in God," Jesus answered. 23 "I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. (from New International Version) Slide16:  Acts 16:14 14 One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message. (from New International Version) Slide17:  Deut 30:5-6 6 The LORD your God will circumcise your hearts and the hearts of your descendants, so that you may love him with all your heart and with all your soul, and live. (from New International Version) Slide18:  Ps 81:12-14 I gave them over to their stubborn hearts to follow their own devices. 13 "If my people would but listen to me, if Israel would follow my ways, 14 how quickly would I subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes! (from New International Version) Slide19:  Isa 29:13 13 The Lord says: "These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men. (from New International Version) Slide20:  Jer 31:33-34 33 "This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time," declares the LORD. "I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 34 No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares the LORD. "For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more." (from New International Version) Slide21:  Rom 10:9-10 if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. (from New International Version) Slide22:  Eph 5:19 Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord (from New International Version) Col 2:2-3 y purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, 3 in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. (from New International Version) 1 Tim 1:5-7 5 The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. 6 Some have wandered away from these and turned to meaningless talk. (from New International Version) Slide23:  Eph 1:18-19 18 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. (from New International Version) Slide24:  Matt 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. (from New International Version) Slide25:  Based on these and hundreds of other scriptures (725) it is clear that the heart is the center of life. The Hebrew word for heart actually means the ‘center of life’ (labe) The spiritual heart can: Imagine, reason, think, receive and give communication, can speak, has a will, intellect, a capacity for wisdom, knowledge and understanding as well as an ability to teach (my heart instructs me…dreams, etc.) Slide26:  Can express the full range of emotions, from hatred to love, from sorrow to joy, etc. Has moral traits, can be perverse, hardened, obstinate, deceived, lifted up in vanity, astonished, made fearful, Created by God to be filled with His Word, His love, His Spirit and to do His work. Can only be shaped and circumcised by the Lord It has the ability to control the actions of the body and soul Slide27:  In other words, although the soul is like the computer monitor screen; the heart is the CPU. But this analogy breaks down because the spiritual heart is greater than the soul. The ability to hear, think, speak and do with the spiritual heart is missing for many of us; Slide28:  Activating the spiritual heart in Christ Ps 104:14-15 He makes ……… wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread that sustains his heart. (from New International Version) Slide29:  The true conversion of the heart.. Produces a transformation of the human personality We must feed the spiritual heart with: Wine (the new wine of the anointing) Oil (the oil of anointing) Bread (The Word of God) He makes……… Slide30:  wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, This is the evidence that the believer is under the influence of the anointing is the ‘shine’ on the face called the ‘countenance’ in the Word “Why are you cast down, O my soul? Hope in God, for I will praise Him, He who is the health of my countenance’ (Psalm 43:5) The smile, the glint of the eyes, the openness of the facial features all manifest the inward liberating power of the New Wine and oil in the heart. Slide31:  The impact of the anointing on the face: 1.) we have the Joy of the Lord on our countenance 2.) we draw others as our face becomes a shining beacon of Life and an avenue through which we minister to others 3.) our present life situation no longer seen as a barrier but as stepping stones to our destiny 4.) we see our life with a new perspective and a joyful attitude 5.) we can see the natural around us with our spiritual heart Slide32:  Question: Do you want this? Exercise ‘Activating the ‘spiritual’ heart’ In order to activate the spiritual heart we must know the difference between the spiritual heart and the ‘mind of the soul’ The following exercise will help us to grow in this awareness Slide33:  1.) with your left hand lightly tap your forehead and silently think thoughts in your mind about anything in your life. with your right hand tap the region of your spiritual heart (over your natural heart) and simply think within your heart on the name of Jesus or on the Blood of Jesus, or speak in tongues silently in your heart. 2.) Now, tap your forehead and think with your mind again about anything in your life. Can you see the difference between your spiritual heart and the mind of your soul? Slide34:  Why silently? Until you perfect this discipline, verbal communication out of the mouth will allow the intellect of the soul to take control and refocus the thinking and communicating functions of the heart. The purpose of this simple discipline is the activation of the communication faculties and skills of the spiritual heart. If this is not done in silence first then the communication faculties of the soul, which already function quiet well, will usurp and/or block (or overpower) the faculties of the heart. Slide35:  Continue this simple discipline until you gain the awareness of the difference of thinking, imagining and speaking with the mind as opposed to doing the same out of the spiritual heart. When you know the difference: you will also be able to receive his direct guidance, etc. Slide36:  When you believe you can distinguish between the mind and the heart clearly, we then can proceed to realign the spiritual heart with God through 1.) heart repentance, 2.) confession, and 3.) proclamation. This spiritual process begins with 1.) confession so first in the silent speech of the heart confess all known sins to the Lord. Since this is the silent “closet” place of heart confession, we can now set everything we have kept hidden in our soul like deep fears, despair, unbelief, sorrows, lust, etc. to God, our Father. This is a place many believers do not visit very often so spend some time here in silent heart confession. You will find this place is where God has built a glorious Bridge for us to cross over into the spiritual land of His Kingdom. Heart confession is a holy place where we are entering into a divine transaction with God resulting in divine transformation of our personalities. Step 2- Silent Heart Confession Slide37:  The most amazing part of this transaction is the work of the Blood of the Cross of Christ. So 3.) invite the Holy Spirit to take Heavenly hyssop, which is a medicinal plant, and apply the Blood of the Lamb generously to all chambers of your heart, especially the chambers of imagination, thoughts, and beliefs, remitting and canceling all sins of the heart and soul. Then 4.) break the power of all spiritual viruses and bacteria given access to and released in you through sin and the DNA sin (iniquity) of your bloodline. Slide38:  Confession of sin and the application of the Blood of Christ consecrates and prepares the place of our heart for receiving and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Now: 5.) invite the Holy Spirit, the New Wine of God, into your heart to fill your spiritual heart until your heart’s “cup runneth over” in gladness and joy of the powerful love, light life, and liberty of God. 6.) Out of the strength of JOY and GLADNESS invite the Holy Spirit to apply the Blood of the Lamb to your soul as you open every chamber of your soul to the consecrating, purging power of the Blood, especially the chambers of the imagination, thoughts, and beliefs. Now invite the Holy Spirit to anointing on your head, which is the location of your mind, will, and intellect. 7.) Ask the Holy Spirit to rub this anointing so that it penetrates and breaks every religious yoke upon your soul’s imagination, thought faculties, and belief system. Allow Him to rub this anointing oil in until you are liberated from the religious condition defined as being “stiff necked.” Finally, invite the Holy Spirit to feed your heart the Bread of Heaven, and to release through the True Bread the realities of the language and culture of the Kingdom of God, the revelation of your son ship position in Christ, and your inheritance in God, your Father. Slide39:  Do this simple silent discipline at least three distinct times per day so that it becomes an instinctive function of the spiritual heart. As you progress in functioning from the heart, (not just your soul alone) then you can begin to add the verbal communication of the mouth as an organ of both the heart and the soul. All elements of this discipline are very important, but probably the most important is the oil of anointing on the head or the soul. If the yoke of religion working on, in, and through the soul is not broken by the anointing, the believer cannot be subject to the law of God, cannot know or receive spiritual things, or function out of, or at times even desire the things of God (Rom 8:7, 1 Cor 2:14, Gal 5:17). The believer’s identity will remain hidden and true heavenly destiny will always be just out of their reach. This creates in the heart and soul a “hope deferred” condition and belief that all that God says they are must only be true for the bye and bye, and not the here and now. The result is a “no action” option for the believer. Thus, their families, neighborhoods, and territories remain locked up by the powers and rulers of darkness.
