A romanian christmas : A romanian christmas ** Please note, the following presentation has been created to show my sponsors exactly what their money went towards** i hope you enjoy it xx Slide 2: A Romanian Christmas Richard Hannan The Bethlehem centre : The Bethlehem centre This is the wonderful centre that i stayed in whilst I was in Hunedoara, Romania Shoe Boxes : Shoe Boxes Can you spot yours? Teliuc Village : Teliuc Village This is a small village a few miles outside of Hunedoara, several members of the centre go to church here every Sunday. The children of the village were presented their shoeboxes in church... Slide 10: The various groups of children and teenagers that attend the programmes held at the Bethlehem centre received their shoeboxes over a 3 day period. Each day a slightly different programme of games and entertainment by the leaders was put on, followed by the distribution of shoeboxes. Hunedoara Slide 35: Uricani childrens home 98 kilometres away from Hunedoara lies a small town called Uricani. Myself, Carolyn Abel and Miha travelled to spend a night with the children, who didnt have any relatives or family to go too over christmas. Slide 36: Below is a picture taken on the long train journey to uricani. From left to right... Myself(Richard) Abel and miha) Slide 37: This trip was all about having fun with the children... And that we did!! Slide 39: Abel, Carolyn, Miha and myself Slide 40: Boys will be boys Slide 44: They also have amazing lights in Uricani Slide 45: Romanian Scouts I've also managed to maintain contact with a scout troop that we met in Hunedoara a few years ago, so i spent a day with them too... Slide 46: Thank yous go to... Elanor Peel Trust...For funding towards travel costs. The Bethlehem Centre... For providing accommodation and food. Carolyn Putt...for arranging my visit from the Romanian side and for putting up with me for 16 days ? All the staff and volunteers at the Bethlehem Centre...for making the event a success and for their continuing hard work. Everyone who donated a shoebox and to all those who took on the responsibility of collecting them all together... Outsider for providing the music Slide 47: Future events...
