Slide2:  KEYNOTE SPEAKER Jack Williams Vice President Engineering, ExxonMobil Mr. Williams joined ExxonMobil as a drilling engineer in April 1987 after graduating from Vanderbilt University. He has held various technical, supervisory, planning, and management positions. In May 2007, Mr. Williams became Vice President of Engineering for ExxonMobil Production Company. Mr. Williams is a member of SPE. He is married with three children. Washington High School. Darryl is active with the National Society of Black Engineers and serves as president of the Gents Community Service Organization. He is an Eagle Scout and was chosen to travel to Israel as part of the Mickey Leland Kibbutzim Internship program. SPEA FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide6:  Chase Horne Chase of Bay City plans to attend Texas A&M University to pursue a degree in petroleum engineering after graduating from Bay City High School. Chase is active in the National Honor Society and National Technical Honor Society. He also works at a local recycling center and performs community service for the Edith Armstrong Center. SPEA FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide7:  Rebecca Walker Rebecca of Conroe will attend Texas A&M University to study petroleum engineering after graduating from the Conroe High School Academy of Science and Health Professions. Rebecca is captain of the basketball team. She also served as secretary for her school’s National Honor Society and Student Union. She works for Texas Children’s Pediatric Associates and has helped on several mission trips to Mexico. SPEA FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide8:  Lauren Whisenant Lauren is graduating from Klein Collins High School in Spring and will continue her education at Texas A&M University where she will study petroleum engineering. Lauren is on leadership committees for several clubs such as Student Council and the Speech and Debate Club. She has worked as a student employee for Anadarko since last November. Kerri served as editor-in-chief of her school’s yearbook and is active in student council. She also volunteers for Northwest Assistance Ministries and the Junior Guild. Kerri has an internship with Anadarko this summer. Slide12:  Robert Baigrie A future studying petroleum engineering at Texas Tech University awaits Robert of Nassau Bay when he graduates from Lutheran South Academy. Robert is captain of the varsity football team and has been very involved with Model United Nations. Fluent in Spanish, he spent two summers working as a translator at Terminal 4 in Buenos Aires. Robert is working for Maersk Oil and Gas this summer. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide13:  Stephanie Bruse After graduating as the valedictorian of Deer Park High School, Stephanie of Pasadena will attend Vanderbilt University to study chemical engineering. Stephanie is on the leadership committees of the Biology Club and Chemistry Club. She works as the childcare coordinator of her church and has participated in several mission trips. Stephanie also volunteers for Pasadena Pet Adoption. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide14:  PRECOLLEGE INTERN EMPLOYER FY07 SPE GCS SPONSOR Slide15:  Loren Campos Loren of Houston plans to attend the University of Texas – Austin to study civil engineering after graduating from Booker T. Washington High School. Loren took second place at the National Society of Black Engineers Try-math-a-Lon competition and is a member of his school’s FIRST Robotics team . He serves as vice president of the Mexican American Engineering Society and is a on the varsity soccer team. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide16:  Taylor Cotton After graduating as the valedictorian of Memorial Senior High School, Taylor of Houston plans to study mechanical engineering at the University of Texas – Austin. Taylor is captain of the football team and volunteers with the Memorial Mustang Outreach Bunch. Taylor will intern for ExxonMobil this summer. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide17:  Rachel Cramer Rachel is graduating from Cinco Ranch High School in Katy and plans on attending Texas A&M University to study petroleum engineering. Rachel is passionate about dancing and works as a teaching assistant at a local ballet school. She volunteers for YMCA and the Sugar Land Methodist Hospital. Rachel has an internship with BP this summer. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide18:  Ryan Farrell Ryan of Houston is graduating from Jersey Village High School and plans to study petroleum engineering at the University of Texas – Austin. Ryan plays the french horn in the band and served as a squad leader his senior year. He participated in Spanish Club and earned a bronze medal in the Science Olympiad. He is an active Eagle Scout. Ryan is working for BP this summer. Jeremy participates in his school’s engineering design team and serves as historian for the Key Club. Jeremy has spent a summer working for BJ Services and will spend this summer as an intern for Chevron. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide21:  Brady Hodenfield After graduating from Fort Bend Baptist Academy, Brady of Sugar Land plans to study petroleum engineering at Texas A&M University. Brady is a four-year member of his school’s football and basketball teams. He also serves as secretary for his youth group and has attended the National Lutheran Youth Conference. Brady has an internship with Chevron this summer. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide22:  Elliot Howard After graduating as valedictorian from Klein Collins High School, Elliot plans to attend Texas A&M University where he’ll major in mechanical engineering. Elliot serves as student council president and is a state officer and executive board member of the Texas Association of Student Councils. He is a member of his school’s varsity football team. Elliott will work for Altus Well Experts this summer. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide23:  Susan Lambert Susan of The Woodlands is graduating from The Woodlands High School and will go on to study petroleum engineering at the University of Oklahoma. Susan serves as an officer for her school’s drill team and is active with the ANCHOR club, a community service group. She is also an accomplished musician, skilled at the piano and clarinet. Megan serves as Notifications chair for Junior Guild, a mother/daughter service organization. David is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. David has worked as a student employee for Anadarko Petroleum since last June. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide27:  Matthew Martin Matthew of Houston plans to pursue a degree in petroleum engineering at Texas A&M University after graduating from Langham Creek High School. Matthew is a student council representative and was chosen as Vice President of the Superintendent’s Student Leadership Conference. He is a four-year member of his school’s basketball team. Matthew is working for BP this summer. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide28:  Patrick McCaslin Patrick of Spring is graduating from Klein High School and plans to study petroleum engineering at Texas A&M University. Patrick is a member of his school’s state and nationally ranked varsity soccer team. He also served as vice president for Junior Achievement. Patrick has an internship with Anadarko this summer. Grady participated in a summer engineering program at A&M that challenged the students with designing a bridge. Grady plays volleyball, basketball, soccer, track, and is also an Eagle Scout. He will be working for Anadarko this summer. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide31:  Carson Noble After graduating from Klein High School, Carson plans to study petroleum engineering at Texas A&M University. Carson has lettered four years as a varsity swim team member and performs at the top level in band being named an all-area and all-regional section leader. He volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and participated in a mission trip to rebuild areas of the Gulf Coast. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide32:  Lauren Parker Lauren of The Woodlands is graduating from The Woodlands High School and plans to study petroleum engineering at the University of Texas – Austin. Lauren plays on the varsity volleyball team and is a member of student council and Mu Alpha Theta. Lauren served as treasurer and secretary of the National Charity League. She will be working for Chevron this summer. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide33:  Zachary Sigmundik Zachary of Flatonia will pursue a degree in petroleum engineering at Texas A&M University after graduating from Flatonia High School. He is involved in the debate team and plays on the varsity baseball team. Zach also helps out at his church and lends a hand to the small oil company that his mother runs. FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP WINNER Slide36:  Matthew Williamson Matthew of Orange plans to pursue a degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University after graduating from Orangefield High School. Matthew has been selected to All-Region Choir for the past three years. He attended the regional Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership Conference and the Kiwanis Citizenship Day Conference. Matthew is part of the Orange County Tae Kwon Do Academy, and has earned his black belt.
