SOTL Bridges Engaging a Research Faculty in the Interdisciplinary Scholarship of Teaching and Learning:  SOTL Bridges Engaging a Research Faculty in the Interdisciplinary Scholarship of Teaching and Learning The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Initiative at Indiana University Bloomington cultivates a vibrant, cross-disciplinary intellectual community. Participation data, comments from the administration, and productive collaboration among faculty members suggest the interdisciplinary nature of the initiative builds community, adds value to professional life, generates knowledge and maintains momentum for this new area of scholarship. SOTL participation is high and interdisciplinary:  SOTL participation is high and interdisciplinary Campus units represented: 109 Academic departments/programs represented: 80 24% of tenured/tenure-track faculty have participated in at least one main event Attendance of individuals attending SOTL main event: 68% faculty 18% graduate students 10% staff Total attendance at 33 events: 2032 Average # of participants per event: 57 (Through June 2002) SOTL Presentations from Different Fields:  SOTL Presentations from Different Fields 35 different scholars 22 different IU Bloomington departments 9 departments fostered multiple presenters.
