Valerie Alexander started her career in the Silicon Valley in the late 1990s, where she worked on some of the most important transactions of the decade as a securities lawyer, an investment banker and an Internet executive. From 2000 to 2001, she returned to Indiana to care for her mother, and in her absence the Internet bubble burst, leaving her no choice but to move to Los Angeles to write and direct movies.

As a screenwriter, Valerie has worked with Joel Schumacher, Catherine Zeta Jones, Ice Cube and others. Not satisfied writing scripts that never got made, she co-wrote, produced and directed the award-winning short film, Making the Cut, as well as numerous commercials and public service announcements.

5 Forgiveness is often hard. start by releasing your unwelcome mental chatter Don’t give another person control of your mental state.

6 If you’re striving to achieve happiness, recognize how hard you’re working and how far you’ve come. Reward yourself. Give yourself satisfaction for all you’ve accomplished.

7 Next time you’re having a miserable moment, try pausing to acknowledge just 5 things that are making you happy at that very moment.

8 Want to shift your mood? Think of a color that makes you happy. Now, spot that color everywhere you go for the rest of the day. Let it remind you of your happiness.

9 Uncertainty is crippling only if you’re focused on the negative. embrace the upside and act as if it’s going to be certain.

10 Remember that everywhere you are is where you’re supposed to be at that very moment.

Final Words from Valerie It doesn’t matter if Happiness is not your native language. You can learn it. You have the power and the brain to do so.
